Corksport race pipe?

The primary/monitored cat is in the exhaust manifold. That stays. Downstream from that is the secondary cat, followed by the small resonator.....it is these two features that the racepipe replaces with a straight section of pipe. If you're confused, you need to get under your car and look at the exhaust routing.

No codes will activate with the removal of a non-monitored cat.

Thank you guys for the posts. So I'm screwed if they visually inspect it. But since the inspection is conducted thru the bod port.. chances are I will be fine since no codes will be thrown and no sniffer test is involved... correct?

if they see that you have the cat in the manifold and there is no codes i doubt they will say anything. tell em it only has one cuz its so damn eco friendly :P

Looks like a green light on this then unless anybody can think of something else I missed. Thanks for the schooling.. this little 2 different than modding my titan.

I wish the racepipe worked with other exhausts. Then I could wear the shirt.

You would have to weld it on to get it installed. You would also have to flare the stock exhaust to get it to meet up.

Yeah... I haz racing beat axleback, but I may end up converting to your full exhaust down the line.

My Subaru Legacy GT had 3 cats stock. One in the Up-pipe, one in the Downpipe and one in the Midpipe (that one was monitored). I removed the two un-monitored ones within the first couple weeks of owning the car and never threw a CEL or got flagged down through years of inspections at various places. Basically: no light, no worry.

Meow! 3 cats would suck.

Yea my wrx had 3 as well (not for long). Whoever decided it was a good idea to put a cat BEFORE the turbo clearly had no intension of owning such a car in that state for long. I guess subaru was thinking the cats would outlast the warranty so when they started shooting peices into the turbo it wasn't their problem.

Ordered mine (along with the cbe) yesterday. Got a small cyber monday discount on the race-pipe plus a free t-shirt! Corksport FTW.

Got my exhaust on this weekend. I ordered the CS catback with race pipe. The kit arrived well packaged, and it looks amazing. Its exactly as pictured on the corksport site. The resonator is in the race-pipe, and the mid-pipe is tubing only. So far (pulling it off the ramps and a few revs) it sounds super quiet. I found installation easier in reverse form of the instructions (race-pipe first). Fittment is decent, but I ran into two minor problems.
1. The mid-pipe sits high enough that its hanger is useless, I had to twist the rubber hanger out of the way for it to fit. The two hanger rods sit maybe an inch from each other at most.
2. I had to massage the heat shielding a bit in the area of the rear-most 90 degree bend as it was touching the midpipe.

I opted to leave off the included band-clamp for now (it goes over the slip-fit connection of the mid-pipe to race-pipe), and have not detected any leaks. I'll install it once I get some type of hanger fitting properly on the midpipe. I may also try to find some stiffer hangers, as the stock rubber ones are quite wobbly. I'll post an update once I have driven it a bit.

edit: On this mornings drive the exhaust is 100% non-intrusive at idle, cruising, and eco-friendly driving. Once I give it some throttle and the revs start climbing above 3k, it starts to wail (certainly noticeable, but not obnoxious). Seems to have a little more top end. Some rattling and whatnot from the fittment issues that need some attention, mainly at startup and idle. Probably from heatshield contact.

Awesome. Thanks for the impressions! Anxious to get mine on too.... And you're right, it's a fantastic looking piece of kit.

Update:

Local muffler shop figured out all it needed was one longer hanger out back on the muffler. Voila...everything lines up fine with plenty of clearance. Muffler tip sits slightly low and to the right but I can certainly live with it. And the sound...perfect for daily driving, even with the race pipe.

Surprised you had fitment issues -- mine went right on the existing hangars with no problems. Clearance was good too. By any chance are the hangers are different lengths and you switched them around?

Ive had my racepipe in its box sitting in the passenger seat for like a month now.. no time to install it but i should have it done early next week. i already have the CS exhaust on. I'll let you know if i run into any fitment issues. i'll see if i notice a difference too since i've been running the exhaust for a few months now.

So the CS muffler fits with the stock midpipe? I wonder if the CS racepipe fits with the Racing Beat muffler. (uhm)
