Corksport intake and turbo inlet installed...

Does the Corksport SRI fasten to the battery box like the Cobb and CP-E or did they come up with a different way to support it? I couldn't tell from the picture on their site.

It's inlet pipe fastens to the valve cover connection in the same place as the stock inlet. There is no battery box connection. It's not needed as far as I can tell. The thing is pretty secure as is.

INSTALLED....

Well I got home last night and as expected it was waiting for me and I got right to the install...upon inspection I am not goign to lie I was a little disappointed in the quality of the inlet pipe. There was a rather large amount of weld flashing on the inside and even a piece of aluminum that was thin and pulled right off...that would of been bad had it been sucked into the turbo. The MAF housing also looked like it had been dropped out of the chuck upon machining as there was a chunk missing and it was pretty scratched up...looked almost used...

I didnt have the same problem with the o-ring. Mine slot right in and snugged down nicely.

Initial Driving Impressions were that it didnt really like partial throttle driving, obviously I was taking it easy...I could only take it for a short drive last night as the woman showed up and wanted to hang...so I went for a drive for lunch today and got her nice and warmed up then gave it some schtick...

YES!! hahah its pretty good, a definite improvement in top end it pulls like a banshee no traction in first OR second and I love the way it sounds, after ROMPING on it the ECU obviously recalibrated as it was much smoother...I am probably going to pull the inlet pipe off and go in with a grinder and clean up the flashing as it will annoy me if I dont...but other than that for what you pay its a good product, again just thing a little more quality control would make a big difference...I may try some different spring combinations with my Forge now to get the best balance...its nice I like it....

I noticed the same issue with weld flashing on the interior of the pipe. It doesn't look great but don't think it will come loose although I'll probably clean mine up too before reinstalling it.

Also they're shipping me a new MAF housing since the hole in mine was too small for the MAF. We'll see how this goes the second time around.

Thanks. I had wondered if that was the case from the picture but couldn't see for sure. That should be reassuring to the guys that are running their Cobb SRI without the bracket, too.

Good luck with your new MAF housing.

Update: I received the new MAF housing yesterday (2nd day air) from CS with a return label for my original one. The hole is about 1mm bigger than the old housing. So the old one was just under 31mm and the new one is just over 31mm. I think this will be perfect... I'm going to reinstall tomorrow and find out.

Ive had mine on since December and absolutely love it. I felt a nice increase throughout the rpms.. The only problem I had was pulling off the stock breather tube so I can attach the silicone hose with the kit. Other than that it was a straight forward install. Seriously, you cant beat the price for what you get.

I reinstalled it today with the new MAF housing from Corksport. The MAF fits perfect now. The car feels great. No CEL's. This thing definitely feels more powerful than the Cobb SRI.
