Cork Sport 'Power Series' Tuner Comptuer (Mazdaspeed)

I think ya'll are missing the point here.... let's look at upsolute for a second. They are gung-ho about Vw's, Audi's, porsches etc... and do they give you the manual tuning capability? NO WAY! As if they'd let regular Joe blow go and change his air/fuel mappings, blow is exactly what would happen.

upsolute, apr etc don't charge 1K for their chip though, they are usually 300-500bucks at most. when i could pay $500 more than the CS unichip and have the mapping custom tuned for my car and run it as a standalone if needed, the $500 for the AEM is worth it.

companies like Cobb and Vishnu offer affordable pcm reprogramming, but they come in stages, and can't be altered.

Binary- you do realize that AEM only sends out their units with a base map to start the car, usually not even a suitable one for driving? AEM does not tune their units, you must find a tuner for that. you have to dyno tune the unit immediately if you are going to use their EMS, what TPW and WM is offering is complete support for their tuning and months of R&D. check out their thread in FI to get the details.

back ontopic- the CS chip would be a great option for a light/moderate enthusiast that doesn't want the hassle of the AEM, and doesn't mind giving up some control. if the price drops a bit, i bet a lot of people wil purchase it.

Reprogrammed at a later date.... hmmmm....., does that specifiy if I add, let's say, a FMIC, after I got the ECU programmed, I'd have to bring the car back to them so they can reprogram the ECU to handle the new airflow of the FMIC??? Would my car run bad because the new ECU needs some tuning? Would the car even run? Let's hope this thing can make up numbers as it goes along.... or else it'd be a tow truck ride to the tuners shop everytime I add a mod....

See, thats my question too. I don't want to have the thing sent off to get tuned again, after I make some mods. Thats just down time and the MSP is my daily driver.

Yeah I know there are no preset maps. Which is why I run a WB02. I mean, most people arent going to be able to tune ANYTHING on their own. I think one of the first investments someone who is looking to push the MSP to the limits is a damn WB sensor and a lesson in fuel managment.

Hell, I'll do it, I'll get the Corksport Engine Management thingy, but they have to come to Canada to support me. Or find a guy that will..... tell ya what, I'll get you the name and number of the guy who does upsolute chips around here, and maybe Corksport can teach him how to do it, and then I'll write a big write up and tell ya'll how it went, k? Sound good? F Dat, I'm writing cork sport rite now. (smash)

I'd be finishing up my install of the HKS AFR if it wasnt snowing like a b****.

fawking snow, i was hoping youd finished that by now, and could let me know how it went.

Corksport has some nice products coming out, but the one thing about that company that really pisses me off is the fact that they give me no customer service what so ever. Whenever they are out of a product i order they dont call me and tell me that it is on back order. No i have to call them a week later and wonder why my package isnt here, and then I find out its on back order and they cant give me a date when the part is going to be in for them, so it takes a month to get a part. That is the one thing I would be worried about if i had to ship the part back to CS. I would probably never get the damn thing back, it would get lost or something, but I almost have no faith with CS and their "customer service" Plus the price is just unbelievable to me, s*** 1000 for a damn chip, i would rather do the exhaust, intake, etc, etc....Sorry for the rant

Matt

Don't worry man. It'll get done. Its just the fact thats its snowing and I work 60 hours a week has kind of slowed things down.

Stanage...check this site out..its in canada..they have a stage 4 kit for the MSP...
http://essentialspeed.com/default.htm

Yaa, it's a :'( shame the warranty people at Mazda :( upon this sort of upgrade... and with only 1600km, roughly 800M on my MSP, I don't believe I'll get this one yet... but soon!!!
Although.... ne1 see why the motor couldn't handle this yet?.... no don't answer, that's for another thread... I don't wanna thread jack.

The production kits will be out early next month (April).

I've daily driven mine with the Tuner Computer for a couple months now and I've had no issues. I forgot if I ever posted the dyno sheets in here... I'm too lazy to go look through 5 pages. :)

I have the dyno pages if anyone is interested.

i think corksport has pics on their site....25 crack hp is weak sauce man..for that price at least...

25whp isn't bad of a gain, for the price of $870, IMO... But it seems kind of silly, as the computer bumps boost to 9psi; I'm sure that's where 90 percent of the power comes from.

not tunable...its a unichip setup...wrx and evo guys got it also...basiclaly a chip setup...u want to tune it gotta go to a unichip tuner or send it back to corksport.....really gey(bang)

yeh thats pretty much where the gain is so whats the point?!?! if it was a lil lower...500-600 range at least i would be game......but for almost 900 bucks!

tru the 9psi will gain you that much alone. the article in IR showed that fact. i think i'll pass on this one too. it looks like i will just save my pennies to get mine moteced in about 6 months.
