Core

Hell, I dont know.....I think its 27inchs side to side and about 18-20inches to bottom. It came off off those turbo diesel NPR Isuzu trucks. Those I/C are fabulous!!

Correction, I think Spoolin is accounting for the endtanks, which from the looks of it are pretty wide. The core measurements are only the section that the fins cover. Most GTR cores excluding endtanks measure at 24"L x 10"H x 3"W. One thing to remember fellas is that bigger isn't always better. Too big of an intercooler and you will experience pressure drop, which inturn means you won't be running optimally efficient. I'm not saying that Spoolins IC is bad, I'm just saying bigger isn't alway better, it's just more intimidating.

Pressure drop is when you lose boost pressure across the intercoolers surface. Of course, you run higher boost to offset the pressure loss, but then you'll be pushing the turbo even harder thus you'll be affecting the efficiency of your system. Of course, not everyone wants to take the time to tune their systems to run optimal, but if I do decide to turbo my MP3, I will do exactly that.......Tune it to run maximum power while remaining efficient :D

Apexi stud is correct.
To big of anything on a turbo system can have a negative effect. The key to an intercooler is to have a very efficient intercooler with minimal pressure drop. Even the placement of endtanks is cruciial in the efficiency game of intercoolers. My intercooler meets these requirments. Even thogh it is very large, I have used this style intercooler on other applications with great results.

I ran an NPR intercooler on my 99 miata with great results. Oh the core is 25X16X2.

Thanks I just wanted to know the depth(length X Height X depth) of it because there isn't a whole lot of space where you put it. you know how there is a bar in front of the foremost radiator and in front of that bar is the power steering fluid cooler, I was thinking instead put the power steering fluid cooler behind that bar since there is about 3/4" of room, that way I wouldn't have to make any major relocation for it and I could use the same piping. is that what you did spoolin?

There are always a lot of those on ebay. Right now there are about 3 or 4, not too expensive either. Range from $100 to $300.

I have a Grand National Intercooler I will let go for 60 bucks. Core size is 13x10x3. Good size core for a low boost setup. It is a 10 row core. I have already cut the necks off so all you would have to do it have a shop weld some necks on the ends and your good to go. Let me know if anyone is interested.
