Coolant Leak

I got out of the car this morning and smelled the oh so wonderful smell of coolant. Popped the hood and this is what I found

it sucks, its hard to see what is leaking from the pictures, but it looks like that crappy hose clamp aint helpin, get ya a "worm clamp"

Dexter look at the green stuff by the hose clamps. That's a coolant leak

Bah, I just looked and I got it to. Frickin sasaphrassin sombabaditch. Well, its a trip to the dealer, new hose, new clamps (not the origionals ) coolant flush and maybe even a new thermostat and radiator cap. Im gonna make em do it all, so they get the picture that I dont play games.

Anyways, look at your wastegate, right next to it is a coolant hose, this is the one that is leaking. AT BOTH ENDS. hope that helps you all find it, my digi cam dont werk on my laptop so no pics as of yet.

mine wasnt leaking. damn mine had like 0 problems and i went and ****** it all up...

how much mileage are you guys/girls putting on your MSP's??? How hard are you driving them?? I figure I drive more than a lot of people on here, and i know I drive my car hard, but I haven't had any bad noises or smells...

yeah, the only smell ive ever experieced was the slight burning smell but i knew that was from the oils and coatings on the parts and s***

no they will all leak over time the hose dont fit the end fittings b/c the dealer i took mine to said the hose are bigger in diameter than the end lines. get factory clamps and hoses again

the master tech was like dont let them put aftermarket s***. its a new car under warranty they need to replace wtih factory OEM s***. if it keeps failing it will result in a recall and they will have to redesign or use a new OEM remedy.

Looks like mine did before I took it in for repair... They told me they just out a new hose on it...

Hasn't leaked again yet that I am aware of. There is definitly a design problem with it when this many people have the same problem.

Sounds like an issue that I have to look into... no problems as of yet (500 mi and counting.......)

Guys with coolant leak: are you running more boost than stock?
Also, wouldnt' a T clamp work better or no?

One more thing: awhile back, I believe LinuxRacr got a new radiatior cap....that holds more pressure or something. Maybe it's worth checking out?

YAH! Mine leaks, too. Same three places. Ok, I put 3476 miles on it and it's completely stock, so it isn't due to anyone's mods.

#1046 is going in for it's first warranty service! Wonder if I can talk them out of a Mazda 6 for a loaner?

they prob give you a p5 loaner. mine just gave me a enterprise car some crappy dodge stratus. drove like a turd. anyway they replaced my silcone hose with a factory rubber one and new spring clamps no problem here anymore, i think its gonna be recalled soon anyway cuz all speeds have that leaky hose...its the silcone hose, its too big in diameter thats all. i gonna upgrade to hose techniques one later on. and replace all the vaccuum lines with silcone ones. best maintenance upgrade for turbo cars.

I smell coolant from time to time so now I know to take it back.
