Continental Tires Discount

id personally rather have a dedicated summer set up and a dedicated winter setup than have an all season tire...
then you get better grip in the summer and better grip in the winter and if done right you really arent spending a whole lot more (my winters have seen 3 winters now and still around 8/32" tread depth, and my old ones last 7 or 8 winters before i replaced the tires) and my summers last year didnt last cause i didnt realize my toe was so screwed up in the rear... going to make sure everything checks out nicely this spring so that i can ensure long tire life out of the DW's

i think it all in all its probably going to work out to be about a wash financially and its just preference, i know some people would like all seasons for the easiness of not swapping tires/wheels etc. but i know alot of people that once they have tried the 2 dedicated sets they say the little extra hassle is worth it

i think it all just comes down to preference

^^^^very well said. My first set of snow tires were on the P5 and after having them have vowed to have a set for any future cars I get. Tamz was in agreement after driving my car one day in the snow and was the second 'mod' she wanted for her 3 (first mod was window visors...lol). I was able to score some used Blizzaks off of CL for $100 that lasted me three years, cant' complain with that. To furhter entice you Larry....http://cnj.craigslist.org/pts/2803647950.html

One thing that could get thrown out of whack, and this is total speculation at this point. Higher treadwear tires that aren't as sticky being pushed past their limit could possibly wear faster than sticky tires not being pushed past their limit. Of course, YMMV for tires period. I've been able to make 12k mile tires last 20+ and 40k mile tires last me 20k. Lots of factors involved.

true to that... the driver has alot to do with how tires wear haha

One it is rec'd, you can get your card refilled if you get another set for friends or family. Did you hit up Jay @ Andrew-racing for your Hawk Brakes?

Yeah Marlon, I called Jay and talked to him today. We chatted for a bit, which was cool, but he sounded super busy! Thanks for getting me in touch with him!
And I will definitely see if my parents need tires or anything like that and let them know about this program. Especially if it expands to all-season tires as well, I think that would attract a lot more "everyday driver" business.

Ok guys I am coming around to your way of thinking. It is making sense to me why people have a dedicated winter set up now. Thanks! 2 sets of conti DW's to be ordered the end of the month/first of April.

Just a quick heads up for you guys. I originally had 16 invitations, well they are all gone, but not to worry! I have 10 more invitations, Larry looks like if you want the DWS's, you can purchase them. I have a call into Conti to see if they're a part of program. Looks like 12 of the 16 have been redeemed so far., needless to say, the Conti Rep is mighty happy with our little community

Actually, I am going to get 1 set of DW tires for the Enkie's and put those on the 3. I am going to run the current tires on the P5 this summer unless I find 17" tires and wheels for it. Then look for a winter set for both. I have half a winter set for the 3, I only need to come up with tires for the rear. Most likely will get some cheap all seasons for that though.

DO NOT mix allseason tires and snow tires on the same vehicle. if you put a set of less grippy all seasons on the back of a front wheel drive car thinking that all they do is hold up the ass end of the car, then you will have an over steering machine on your hands any time the pavement gets even a little icy/ snow covered. always put a whole set of snows or a whole set of all seasons.

Just as a heads up, on the coupon code it says the rebate is good for the DW, DWS, Sportcontact family (1,2,3,5 & 5P series), Crosscontact UHP, 4X4Contact and 4X4sportcontact.

Getting my DWS put on tomorrow!!

Per my conversation with the Conti Rep, this was for Summer tires, only. I have sent an e mail to confirm if the DWS and the other tires will be a part of the program. Not to be a ass here, but unless you have all of the specifics, I would appreciate it if you would not post inaccurate information as this may mislead others.

I apologize. I was just relaying word for word what the coupon states the rebate is valid for... I would think they would have to honor what is stated on the form. But if it is false information I think it would be good for them to know to maybe take it off? just my opinion. Again not trying to give false information, just working with what I saw

Good point Marc, thanks.

Ok, the DWS are good to go as well as the others listed. In additon, we are working on the Conti Slicks for those who run in HPDE, etc,

Ordered my DWS's on Sunday and received them today from Tire Rack. Looking forward to putting them on the wagon next week when I get back from The Mitty!

the dw's are awesome! of course my tires (parada's) were howling bad...the car is soooo quiet now! well, for a convertible! ;)
