2010 Mazda6
I just purchased a 2010 Mazda 6 yesterday after having a 2010 Altima for 2 weeks and WOW i love the Mazda6!! Its like night and day how much better the look/ interior was put together ! Thanks Mazda!!

Anyways on to my question

I'm sorry if you dont agree with me doing so but regardless of anyones thoughts i plan on putting 22's on my 6!. Ive seen a couple in the past and i KNOW its possible now adays but i was just wondering if any1 knows what i would need to make it possible, spacers for example. I know i will have to get 30 series tire bcz thats alot of wheel to tuck but plz if any1 knows of ways to make it easier let me know

Thanks to whoever can help!

i know you dont care about other ppls opinions.. but 22's are too big man.. i even think 20's are too big.. but if you wanna go big.. i would keep it at 20's.. 22's are gunna be expensive as s***.. a project to make fit.. and tires are gunna be $$$$$

rides gonna suck, performance is gonna suck, braking is gonna suck.....yea dont do it unless your getting enkie rpf1s in 22s if they make it lol

ok well i didnt buy the 6 for performance or handling ....i bought it to look good

the dealership had a 6 on 20s and they had plenty of extra space in the wheel well. Tires arent THAT expensive

My plans include...Blacking out the heads and tails, 5% tint all around, 13W7 and 1000.1 JL amp, 300.4 for the highs, In dash Pioneer DVD, Xenon 8000k Headlights, Black and Chrome rims

i didnt mean performance as in tracking the car, i meant it from a safety standpoint. you will have so much rotating mass that

1) your accelleration will be significantly hampered
2) your stopping distances will increase dramatically
3) in any kind of emergency manouver your car will not be able to "get out of its own way"
4) you will chew thru brakes every 10k
5) your speedo and mileage will be drastically off

read all about unsprung weight and rotational mass and you'll see what im getting at

i dont doubt the looks.. i just think it will bring more pain then pleasure.. with problems and costs and all that.. and with those bigg ass tires n rims ur speedometer is gunna be off my a good bit aswell.. but to each his own.. if you really want.. do it and post some pics.. id be curious to see how it turns out.. im not knocking your sytle im just tryna look out for a fellow 6er (well i have MS6). good luck on whatever you decide.

Huh.....a donked Mazda6. Something new every day! You'll have a terrible ride quality and the turn radius of an 18 wheeler.

Still rolling on the floor from ms6bb0y link.(rofl)

anyway I would guess some sort of taller shock/spring would need to be put on to raise the car. Typically when doing the big wheels the older cars use truck a-arms to raise it up but the Mazda won't have that for sure.

Also don't forget to look into a big brake kit to properly and safely stop the car.
To each his or her own, enjoy the new ride and wheels.

22s fit clean under the wheel well so plz dont consider it a donked out 6 thx

I understand the turn radius and ride wont be as good and stopping distance and all that but thats what uprades are for .....i will most likely upgrade the brakes and i already drive slow/economical ....ive taken ALL of these things into consideration trust me

EDIT:LOL at that pic

Just playing with you, I am sure it will be just fine. I bet airbags will be needed to get the raise, also make sure it does not get the angle of the axel shafts and cv joints way out of wack. The famous saying is " Where there is a will there is a way" or was it "man with hand down his pants has smile on face"

everything else aside, i commend you for presenting your case using coherent english; that in its self has gotten you very far with help.

lols

22" wheels on a mazda 6??? don't care about ride/performance/braking??? only care about looks??? (which, is ironic considering it would look like crap... no offense)

As the kids these days would say... EPIC F'in FAIL!!!!

ok well I guess there are idiots on every forum.....

I don't care how fail you think it will be because I've already seen a 6 on 22s and it looks very good and the 5-6 other people i was with agreed. Just because some of your tastes are 18 inch racing rims with hooked up brakes and engines doesnt mean a Mazda 6 cant look the way i want it to as well.

Thank you for those of you who have actually given me some info to work with

First off, you should read a little more when you post, we have a section for the 2009+ Mazda6. You asked for help, people gave it to ya, whether or not you agree with it. If you want to go and put obnoxious rims on your car, go for it. People have posted the potential risks and problems you'll run into.

It also helps when you actually title the thread with what you're talking about, not 'please help' which is ambigious.
