Went on a road trip this weekend with my P5 to ohio for a family reunion. After a while driving on the interstate it became clear to me that my suspension has reached that floating bouncing stage that most suspension reach when they need to be changed. I currently have stock suspension but want to upgrade. I have been reading lots of threads about the kind of suspension people are using for my car and I hear a lot about the tokico blues and illuminas and that they work well will this car. However I have a brother and law who put the Tokico blues on his 6spd maxima and said they were great at first but after about a year they sort of lost their edge. Im wanting to know about the longevity or life of these struts. I want solid suspension that goes the distance. Is tokico the brand I need to get?

tokiko blues are what come stock with the MSP.
they are great struts.
if you are just looking to upgrade the OEM struts but not concerned about lowering the car, the tokiko blues are you best bet.
the illuminas 5-way adjustable might be a tad to expensive if you are not planing on doing any type of racing style driving.
just don't buy KBY.

So the tokico blues won't lower it at all? Idealy id like to go down around 1.5 to 2 inches. I dont wanna be taking out speed bumps though. Overall im most concerned with nice tight and responsive handlig.

Ive been running the blues for about 60-70ka and its still tight....what lowers the car will be springs

I have the blues with Eibach springs. Lowered the car over an inch the whole way around. I wanted OEM+ while keeping some ground clearance since its a DD and not something bone jaring on every bump. I'm very happy with them.

i have the stock tokicos on my 01 mp3 150k miles drivers side is starting to squeek passenger is still good rears were changed at 120k. so who said they didnt last long? :)

Alright well im pretty convinced already! Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried koni springs with the blues or illuminas? The koni seem pretty sweet.

Its all kind of based in your experiance . . . Im running KYB GR2s (pretty much an OEM replacement) and a set of Racing Beat springs (1" lowering) and Ive put 50K on them with no problems what so ever.

Yeah iv heard that the KYBs are great for replicating the stock suspension feel.

I have the tokico blue's kit struts and springs i dropped 1.5" all around look at my sig pic. But im going to swap out the springs for some eibach sportlines for a lower drop so ill be selling my tokico springs if your interested lmk ill take the pics and what not. they only have like maybe 500 mi on them if that.

Just keep in mind if that the spring sets are different for P5 vs sedan. I went with eibach because of good reviews and the fact they had a p5 kit. I'd hate to have rear end sag.

As far as springs, runnin some Maxspeed 1.4 drop all around. They are OK, no major complaints and no issues but that box of fresh new espelirs in the garage is beckoning to me to put their linear asses on the car tho. Thinkin the ride will be a bit better than the progressives on the car now.

I have a set of Tein S Tech with the blues. Sets the car height at approximately 1.8" in front and 1.5" in rear.

Where is the best place to buy the Tokico Blues and Eibach Springs? And to you all who are running that set up, what was the cost all together for springs and struts? Thanks! ( first post, i know. Just startin to get into my P5)

one thing to keep in mind with tokicos is they do come with a life time warranty through tokico them selves. just an fyi
