Comments or compliments from other drivers?

When I first bought my MS3, it was pretty disappointing to get blank stares from my friends when they asked what I got. I like having a sleeper but I wouldn't mind having just a little more name recognition.

personally i kind of like the fact that i dont get many compliments or attention in the car. To most its a nice looking station wagon/family car. 99% of the people dont know what it has in it or what it is capable of. I used to drive an SVT Focus and everyone and there mother wanted to race. In this car...nobody! its wonderful. IMHO it is the perfect sleeper and i like it that way

AMEN!!

I'm agreeing with the "sleeper and like it that way" crowd. No one notices or cares. Got an up/down/up look from a gti driver that left me feeling a bit dirty though.

I have to admit the speed3 is one big sleeper... the only ones that notice seem to be the ones that know about cars and they usually arent the ones being an ar$e on the road.....

Full tank of Gas.... 50 bucks
Nicely equiped MS3 ... 20 something grand
Faces from oh so many Audis, BMW, and Acuras who cant believe this little thing is out accelerating, out handling them onto/on/and off the freeway.... Priceless....

One negative: nobody I mean NOBODY gets out of your way....

Word. Sleeper FTW took that mazdaspeed badge off and went with just Axela so now no one knows what the **** it is or why they just got left.

I had that problem with the focus too until I started driving with my Fog lights on like I do in the Mustang. People seem to clear out after that. With the Speed3 I drive with the HID's on all the time and it seems to get the same effect. Flip your lights on during the day and see if you get better luck.

on the way home from my golf match last night a car full of kids (im assuming mommy or daddys car) in a Nissan blew by me, did a double take and slowed down to my speed. They were looking out the window and wanted to run... i dont normally do that sort of thing, but i was cruising at 55 in 6th gear, so i just hit the gas. Even using just 6th gear his altima was no match...the comment i got was "Dude! That thing is fast!!!"

I usually just get the "Is that car turbo?" or "Did that come stock turboed?"

Yesterday I had a car pull up next to me at a light and the guy was like "Dude does that come with a turbo?" I of course said yeah. Then he looks over to his girl and she goes "Oh, it sounds good." :-)

The other night I was parked and an RX8 with an exhaust pulled up, with a girl driving it. She was there to talk to some of the people I was hanging out with. Then she looked over and goes "Who's got the Mazda over there?" Everyone pointed to me and she just goes "NiiiiiiiIIIIICCCeeeeee!"

I have the only Speed 3 running in the COM Sports Car Club track events this year. After being a little tentative at Watkins Glen (My first event with the car and first time at the Glen), other drivers of fast machinery now are quick to comment on their amazement of the way the "grocery getter" (coined by the drive of a NA Porsche 911) runs with them, or wooops butt. At a recent event at Mosport, an STi driver (he set fastest time of the day!) commented that the 3 was making some "crazy power" and he could not over take me on the 1/2 mile, 130 mph, straightaway. (bowdown) I just grin at all the great compliments, but now the secret is out and lap times are being compared to the MS3! (sssh)

I saw where you can buy the matching TURBO badge and I'm contemplating buying it. But I think I'll see what it's like a little longer driving it without people knowing what it is.

Especially now that I still don't know how to drive a manual fast, and I still kill it every other day! People would think 'what the F is she doing driving that fast car?'

People in Atlanta are all dicks. I always get s*** from high school kids since I look like I'm 17. Some high school kid even yelled s*** at me the other day when I was riding my bike. People at work even ask if I'm here to have lunch with my parents. 7 years since I graduated high school and I still have to put up with those pricks :( i blame it on too many rich people around here that spoil their kids and get them cars that they parade around as status symbols. I won't ever race someone unless it looks like it will be worth my time. I'd rather kick the parent's ass with my sleeper ms3 than take their kids.

heh, I saw your MS page. You look like Thom Yorke.

Yep just don't have the lazy eye but I have heard that since I was in high school. That or the dorky kid from Road Trip which I take more offense to (no)

yep yep, i am 24. You should have seen me when I was 2 everyone kept telling me I looked like I was 0.

Doesn't help that I have a super overactive metabolism. Been 125 lbs for the last 15 years. I'm gonna be one of those skinny old men :(

I wanted to give a compliment to a good looking woman in a True Red MS3 that I saw the other day.

However, she was not aware of my intent, so she proceeded through the gears, shifted into 3rd, poured on the turbo, and the only thing I could say at that point was ":("
