Coming from an RX8...

I'd be interested in test driving an older model WRX. But the newer model is just soo much better with the 2.5 liter boxer. How is the steering feel with the WRX? I loved the slightly heavy and sensitive steering of the RX8.

If you want fun and don't need a back seat, try the Miata. It drives much like the RX-8 with less power but better transistions.

If you need a back seat, take the MSP. I tried the WRX and hated the turbo laaaggg. The MSP doesn't have the pure acceleration of the WRX but what you have is available much sooner. Also stock the MSP feels better than the WRX. It actually feels like my old BMW 2002 used to feel. The only bad part is no power oversteer

Of course this is just my opinion.

1991 Taurus SHO... If you dig for a while, you can find 'em in good shape and supercharged for well under 15k. If I had the $$$ and the time, I'd give up my MSP for one in a heart beat.

I think I'm just going to stick with my '99 Altima for now and buy a used STI in a few years and probably a Cobb Accessport to go along with it. STI's are going for less than 25k right now ('04s and '05s) so in a few years they'll be around 17-18k. I'll make sure to lop off that horrendous wing when I do.

Thanks for the help.

Go for the MSP if you really like it, its fun as hell to drive, but if our gonna go the STi Route thats cool too. The STi and MSP are in two completely different categories if you ask me, but I would rock an STi if i could afford one. Good Luck with the car shopping.

STI's (the current gen ones) are gonna be cheap in a couple of years when the Impreza replacement rolls around. Right now you can get a low-mileage '05 model for around $23k. Wait a couple of years and you'll see them much lower than that.

MSP!!!...dont get a 240, everyone and their mothers have a 240. same thing with a wrx. preludes are ugly and slow imho but reliable. rx7 is the least reliable, but look amazing and can be SUPER fast with a little work, but you would neva pass emissons. i kno, ive owned 2 of them and own 1 now. the msp handles excellent for a 4-door, pretty fast for only 170hp, and looks really cool. also their isnt that many of them around. comin from a rx-8, i kno you will not be dissapointed. i wasnt. msp would prolly be faster than the rx-8...ive neva liked the rx-8 imho...always loved the rx-7's
