Color matching paint?

I am going to get my front fender replaced and repainted soon.

My question is about this whole color matching thing to the rest of my car. The autobody shops keep talking about blending the color of the repainted fender into the rest of the car. I guess this is due to sun fad on the color of the car.

But here is the thing....my car came with pin striping. Would it be safe to say that if I take off the pin striping on the damaged fender and if I do not see any signs of color difference from where the pin stripes used to be then I should be OK just to get the fender painted what ever the color code is?

i didnt see any difference in color when i got rid of my pinstripping. it really depends on how old the car is.

How old was yours when you took the striping off?

My car is only just over a year old.

It all depends on the climate and where the car was parked/used.

Also, different colors fade differently...
