OK here's the latest fun one:
P5, 5spd manual. Anyone else noticed a jerking or shaking from the front right before the car warms up completely? I have to pull out into a street kind-of uphill, and it feels like the fronts gonna vibrate off. Once the car's warm, it goes away. Any ideas? It's garage kept, so it doesn't seem to be a temperature issue, but it's about 50 degrees in the garage and 40 or so outside in the mornings.

Hey,

I'm not sure about the vibration, but I do notice quite a bit of engine racket when it's cold. It's disturbing to hear that coming from a brand new car. I'll pay attention to see if feel a vibration too.

Yeah, the noise has been discussed to death, something with the exhaust manifold, but this is a really bad shaking, when I'm letting out the clutch to start moving.

Driving this car in a cold morning is not the greatest. I notice the same problems myself when the car is cold.

ya i notice this problem as well. it is aside from the exhaust shaking. i thought i'd burned out my clutch or something. but your right it goes away when it gets warm. mine seems to be getting worse.

Yep my car has to warm up otherwise i hear a noise like a metal-shaking noise, sounds sort of like the heat sheild or something.

My car does the same thing. The shaking I have no idea about, but as for the rattle, I have taken my P5 to the dealership 3 times to have them check on this. The first time they found a rock in my heat shield, the took it out and thought that was the end of it.It wasn't. The second time they said that it was a rattle in the exhaust. After calling Mazda several times they found out that the sound is coming from somewhere in the ignition system. Something to do with the programming in the computer. I was told that this won't cause any damage to my car, but i'm not so sure. (or at least it won't until my warranty is expired) Anyway, they said that there are several engineers working on a solution. It has been almost a month and a half ,and still no word. If I find out any more info i'll let you guys know.

I have a same problem when I start to drive my car at the morning. But I found out one more thing which is the 2nd gear is hard to shift too when the car is cold.... But all the problem will disappear when the car get warm-up. (I used to warm up my car until the temperture meter begin to rise.)

My car behaves the same way when the temp gauge is cold - a minor rattle until it warms up. The 1-2 shift is also stiff, but that also used to happen in my Honda in cold weather.
