come on guys some one has to have a thought. Either on the install cost or their oppinions of the coilovers. THanks

Do it yourself. Coilovers arent the hardest install to do. I would've went with tein springs instead of coilovers. They have a tendancy to make clicking and clunking noises. Bad experience with Skunk 2's.

I have them and they are skreat!!! Had to say that.. It cost me $150 plus $60 for aligment. Also if you want to be lowerd more use camber bolts which are 15 dollars.

And the noise dies when you put a couple of miles (2000). And also you can put a cusion on the springs like I did and they dont make any noice at all.

Although I still don't know how low you can go. I have It aroun 2.5" and it's just perfect.

People are dicks aren't they. Someone is probably itching to say SEARCH.

I had the GC's on my mp3 they were ok. As far as looks the drop is awesome. They go pretty low which I liked. The ride that low is pretty bad. Actually the ride with the GC's is pretty rough anyway you put it. You should also be extremely careful because these sleeve coil-overs do some severe damage on your stock shocks. I would look into some aftermarket shocks. I blew mine out in less than a year, and they were the MP3 tockico's.

Bottom line is they are good for the money, but the stock shocks cannot handle them. Especially if u ride them all the way down like I did. I paid $200 for installation, which is kind of high. Do not pay more than $200. No matter where you go.

AGain they are good for looks and for the money, but I eventually had to go to JIC FLT-A2. The lesson I learned for the GC's and some decent shocks to support them, along with camber plates for a low drop, you might as well get the real deal JIC's!

hey thanks guys and i did do a search prior to posting. I am a seasoned veteran on this board even though i dont post a lot. Is 330 a good price? I found varied opinions about GC however no install costs were quoted. I do appreciate the input. I wont drop all the way but i want the adjustability for winter reasons, but if i wanted to upgrade shock what would you suggest. KYB, Tokico, Bilstein?

$330 is too much!
It is only two-hours labor at the most.
What is this shop's hourly rate, and how many hours do they think it will take?

LOOK HARDER!

dude, just find some guys in your state who live close by, im sure theyd be happy to help. dont pay that price.... i installed my own s***, took me forever but lol, u save all that cash - chris

To answer the original question, I've been quoted at about $175-$195 for a full-coilover install including ride-height adjustment but excluding alignment.

I believe Turbobunny just did his himself. You can probably find somebody close to you who has the know how and will to help.

if you have the tools install them yourself, it is super easy. i have never done any suspinsion work and installed mine in like 2-2.5 hours. i have skunk2's and they make a lot of noise. so i too am interested in hearing what kind of material can be used as a cushion.

O s*** guys, i didn't mean 330 for install, 330 for the coils. I dont have a lot of confidance in my install skills. I've done all the install on my other stuff. I also want someone to yell at if its ****** up. My only quote was 220 for install. Anyone around Omaha NE want to help me w/ some coilovers?

Yeah, Chino's right....I just installed them......

Install is pretty straight forward.....it sounds like you are just going with the GC sleeves...That means you're going to have to take apart your stock suspension to install them.

I think for the front there are just three bolts under the hood at the shock tower, one for the swaybar link, the brake line clip, and then just the two that bolt the strut to the knuckle....

So that's just 6 bolts and one clip to take the front out.

and come to think of it there are just six bolts and a clip on the rears as well.

The biggest pain is going to be compressing the springs evenly and then taking the assembly apart, but that's not too bad :)

What will probably take the longest is getting the height exactly where you want it, unless you get lucky the first go round.

I think there are a couple of How-To's on this board as well..

And just my opinion, although I always install springs on my own, I would probably gladly give $50-$80 to have someone install them for me.

Good Luck!

i too recieved my GC's today and they look small compared to the H&R's I bought off ebay! thanks anthony.. Can someone tell me why they're so small? Oh and sorry for the jacked thread but I was quoted $100 at ARD here in San Diego for the H&R springs. I have to call again about the GCs. -jAy
