COBB Tuning Stage2 Suspensions?

im still at this point trying to learn about modifications and changing parts for a car.

and i have have read reviews of COBB being a trusted item

so is the COBB tuning stage2 suspension for the MS3 recommended or is there better??

and what if you were to purchase this suspension.. what else would you need to change to the car?

Cobb produces a high quality product from all reports. That is a long wait. I did 3 months once. Got mine in may 07. good luck well worth it

but can you just buy the full suspension set and that is all you will need

If I do not do coilovers and sways I would install Cobb. Depends on how much you want from the car. It is pretty damn tight stock. Don't buy any aftermarket parts until you drive one.

Also depends on how much you want to change the handling and how involved you want to get in tuning the suspension. Most coilover kits have huge amounts of adjustability. Personally, I don't want to have to mess with that. I already have the Cobb rear bar and love it. I won't do the front bar because it is such a pita to swap out and I don't think I need it. I do intend to swap the springs for the Cobbs at some point. Slight lowering of the car, modest increase in spring rates, still good for daily driving supposedly, but a nice improvement in handling. Cobb seems to think the stock dampers are fine, they just need a little stiffer spring to balance them out, so why spend the money on coilovers when you can get springs and put the money you save into a new TMIC or other power toy?
But waiting until you have first hand experience is great advice. You may like it fine in stock form.

i think he means FMIC, because heat soak still happens with the aftermarket TMIC's... and that works for the first hour of driving, but then meh, no real power gains once the heat soak starts...

the FMIC is way better, not on top of the hot motor, so no heat soak :) and bigger intake area, with no lag either.... +5 FMIC

I meant top mount. I personally am of the opinion that the biggest gain from an intercooler swap isn't from better cooling, but from replacing the restrictive stock unit with one that breathes better. The major advantage of the front mount is that it doesn't heat soak while the car is sitting still with the engine running. The guys with TMIC upgrades all swear that they stay cool with the car in motion. The TMIC is less expensive, easier to swap, and can be put back to stock in a heartbeat for warranty work, all of which outweigh (for me) the one advantage of the front mount. If there is any difference in lag between the two, the advantage would have to go to the TMIC due to the far shorter path of airflow.

+1 My aftermarket Top mount flows nice And no heat soak but it is early into season, Fmic is a better application but i am trying to stay stealthful. I will watch the iat but my car also is not a stoplight to stoplight car, I can assure you that my cool side is cool when i turn her off.

tmic is the s*** I like it And I wont install fmic because with tmic you can go back to stock in couple minutes(shady),and what other car have tmic (not counting subaru) there is something I really like in tmic

some valid points, but there is no lag with the FMIC at all, and when i had my 3.25 TMIC i got heat soak, and FMIC, nothing but better performance...

im just speaking from experience of both parts, but thats just me :)

cheers from canada
