Cobb SRI or Fujita cold air intake

i was thinking about buying the cobb sri but seeing that it is always back ordered i was wondering about the fujita intake and if its a good product, if it has a nice hp gain and if anyone has had a problem with hydro-lock (if its even occured)

cobb is supposed to be worth the wait. hydro lock is a very real and relavent issue depending on ur location.

I don't know the real reason behind why COBB isn't picking up its production on the SRI but there have been a few issues with the mounting bracket snapping with the current design of the SRI. Maybe they're taking a long time in order to get this problem fixed, maybe not.

Fujita makes good products and any CAI will give you better gains no matter what. But what you have to take in to account when making a decision like this is 1) Are you willing to invest the time needed to take off your front bumper every time you want to clean the filter and 2) Do you live in an area where storms hit hard? If you answer yes to 1 and no to 2, then you should easily go for the CAI seeing as they will give you much better results.

i thought its behind because of the molding company for the maf housing were rejects

cobb sri

Why is it when I look up the COBB SRI all i find are MS 3's ? I have a speed 6 and im looking at having the COBB installed. Just wondering if there is any particular reason I only fine them in speed 3's ?

because its not made for the speed6 yet

cobb or cpe = only intakes with correct maf housing size

all others = incorrect = not taking in the correct amount of air = possibility of CEL

ive seen cobbs on ms6's with some finagling (sp?) i would imagine it would fit. I live here in fl and downpoors and flooding are a very real threat, jaxjeff already had a very close call with hydrolock. I am trying to figure out how to get a sri without having to wait months. About to just buy a cheap fleabay one and cut/fab it to fit. All i really need is the bung for the MAF and i can put together the rest.

Why would you take your front bumper off????

all you need to do is go into the wheel well to take off and clean the filter.

I don't have any experiences with the Fujita CAI but I can tell you that the Cobb SRI is a solid product. I would consider myself a novice when it comes to actually working on the car, but I was able to install it myself without much of a problem. I've had the SRI for a couple of months now and I haven't had any issues with it yet (knocks on wood!).

which sri did you hae and what'd u do with it?

i use a Fujita CAI on my car and have installed them on multiple 3, ms3 and ms6. never once have i have seen a check engine light for that intake. i have sold plenty of injens and never seen a CEL from that. i can't recall any of my customers in recent memory who have told me of a check engine light from either of those intakes.

you do not need to pull the bumper to install a filter. all you need to do is peel away the splash shield in the wheel well and there you go.

M3F Intake Topic

compare all of the gains created by the CAI vs the gains posted by the SRI. Sure, they werent all on the same exact car in the same exact environment but the consistency involved with the dyno numbers posted by various CAIs has to mean something...
