hey just wanted an opinion, going to get a sri for my 09 speed3 i know i want either cobb or cpe nano but just not sure wich one to get. If anyone has any opinions on which one is better or if no difference at all i would greatly appreciate any feedback thank you.

I hear that the Cobb support bracket either breaks or breaks the battery tray sometimes. Not sure how true that is. I have the Cobb SRI but I got it locally off a speed6 so he didn't have the bracket for me. I zip tied it in place but, checked tonight and that broke. It runs fine without it though.

I have had the pleasure of owning both intakes. Originally I had the CP-e, and I did not notice any differnce from stock. Sold the CP-e, bought the COBB, aqnd man what a difference. The car is beastly now. I think the problem with the CP-e is that the vacum line hose uses the stock plastic elbow, and the connection never feels snug. Seems like potential for a leak. Maybe it is just me, but I definitely feel as thought the COBB has performed better. Maybe someone else that has had both can chime in. Definitely don't listen to the kids that say they are both the same beacause they are talking purely from speculation, not experience.

The Cobb bracket is heavy duty but, the flimsy piece of 20 gauge its bolted to isn't. One spot weld under the batt tray holds this on and that's what breaks. However, 15 minutes to remove the battery and bat box, drill out the busted spot weld and replace it with a sheet metal screw solved the problem.

Taking out batt box is easy, the front of the box unclips and slides up and out, undo the ECM couplers with a careful flick upward on the loops at their tops undo batt and slide forward and out, 3 10 mm bolts hold the batt box in.

I recently ordered just the bracket cause I was concerned the MAF sensor was not reading correctly because it was always bouncing around. I just didn't tighten it down as hard as possible. Left a bit of wiggle room to prevent the tray from breaking.

how much is it for just the bracket?

at this point i would get the cp-e since they are still supporting the ms3 community. i have the cobb sri but if i didn't and had to choose right now, it would be cp-e all the way

Cobb is ASS. From my personal experience viewing someone who had them both, Cobb contributed to knock, poor AFR, deformed workmanship over time, and a PR cock who bit the hand that feeds him. The Nano SRI performs as well if not better, but the piece is quality, durable, works very well with the CPE turbo inlet (just added mine - have had nano about eight months now), and runs smooth and error-free with the rest of the vehicle. No knock, no AFR problems, just a lot of heavy breathing. My .02.

Viewing somebody who has had them both, and having them both are totally different. I am not a COBB fanboy. I just know from personal experience that my car performs better with the COBB. Anyways, you seem to have a bitter taste for COBB, and seem to be all over CP-e, that's cool, but bias will not help this guy make his decision.

I tried to get just the bracket but couldn't find any way to buy it alone. So I bought the SU red Cobb SRI and found out they were on back order. I told Mark that I only wanted the red tube, bracket, and red K&N Filter because I already had the mass airflow sensor housing. He cut the price about half and sent me only what I needed.

Yes, but the person in question is my life partner. (spank)

The PG SRI + Inlet for $200

Same question as Wurf. What about the PG SRI?

Ken at Protege Garage will sell the SRI + inlet for $200 if you ask. Downsie is the inlet is on backorder for at least 2 weeks.

Thoughts???

cobb vs. cpe used to be the best argument - now that cobb is bailing on parts for the ms3 -and only supporting the tuning - it's not so much - i have the hks and love it because the filter is dry, comes off easy for cleaning, and i've never had one issue with it
