Cobb or TurboXS FMIC?

not a bad experience, they just don't have an extremely great track record... id gladly spend an extra 100-200 bucks for the COBB setup.. COBB is tried and true, TXS just doesn't have that rep yet.

if youre gonna go with an FMIC, why not just go for the best from the start? theyre expensive for us anyway you look at it... sacrifice the extra cash for the better intercooler.

i agree...buy the best so that you have no future problems. i went with the cp-e unit. if you read the research and development page on their intercooler it makes you really think about all the time and efforts that go into it. also the cp-e requires no mods to the bumper and all you have to do is cut powersteering lines and splice into them with the parts that they provide. it took me 3 hours to install the front mount with no assistance.

Yeah thanks guys I dont think i will get my frount mount until later though probable after the intake and the cobb-tbe. Cp-e is nice too but i really could care less for the looks of that frount mount. I just cant get over the offset look of it.

all this debate on just a pipe and a simplified radiator. if you guys were doing it for performance than you should go with a TMIC due to the shortest distance from turbo to tb. but its such a insignificant difference its not even worth bring up. its just like comparing intercoolers. there's difference but the difference is so minimal. why do people assume expensive means better?

I agree to a point. The best cores for FMIC's cost 2-300 bucks. Why do I want to pay another $700 for pipes and brackets? Ugh.

I disagree with your TMIC is better comment. Heat soak is a BIATCH! I watch my boost air temps climb to 160* in a very short amount of time when I sit at a traffic light. They eventually come down to 105-107 if I get moving long enough. My car is a dog when I need to pull out in traffic - when I need the power the most. At the track my heat soak is more severe, and even when constantly moving my boost air temps never drop below 115*. Too much heat in the tmic location for what I use the car for. For autox or drag it's fine because you can ice it or keep it sprayed down.

With boost loss of less than 1psi, the fmics I've seen for this car are surprisingly efficient.

i paid for mine txs fmic lees than for new tmic so i gues for that kind of money i cant complain.... only down side is that core is so big that im losing 2-3 psi above 5k rpms...it wont be a problem after I will put upgraded turbo with bigger wheel

Yeah, heat soaks hurts but this car's got the powerband to get you around any traffic and we got the ducts during crusing. FMIC is my choice but i didn't have a good way to explain this debate.

turbo xs intercoolers are garbage... the company doesnt have as good quality or reputation even as COBB, especially not for our cars, go with the COBB you cant go wrong.

dude you dont even have any FMIC. you talk shet on a company when you have no expierience with them. yes cobb is good and so is TurboXS. the quality on my fmic is the best the only thing better about the cobb is that they put a sticker on their piping. (321fu)
