I am about to install a cobb DP, but i have not heard alot about this issue. If anyone that has a cobb DP can let me know if they have smoking issues.

I have about 600 miles on mine and smoke free. Good luck with you install of a very nice part man.

That is what im hopping becuase it is catted unlike the corksport one. Did anyone buy a new gasket for the DP?

That is why i am asking, i dont see why it would smoke, especially with a cat. I can see some smoking because of the oil in the new pipe.

It's not as simple as one DP is catted and another isn't... It's the pressure differential on the exhaust side compared to stock when running an aftermarket DP that pulls oil past the seals. If you're concerned, then you can try running a 5w-40 weight oil. If you drive the car hard, this would be a good choice regardless.

Then maybe the question that i should be asking is if a Cobb DP is worth it? I still want to buy a SU TMIC, and i already have a test pipe, which means that im a running my cobb AP at Stage 2+ (which i was instructed to by cobb).
Please let me know your opinions on this issue. To install or not to install that is my question?

just install it you shouldnt smoke and if u do who gives a crap and sell me the test pipe you currently have

I run a rp (stage2 v013 FMIC) and have had my catted dp in the garage ~5 months. Not sure whether I'm gonna install it or not.

The question for you is can you stand the smoking if it occurs...and if not, do you want to go thru the pain of reinstalling the stocker.

Would the smoke screw anything up? If not...then who cares? BTW, i am asking...cause i really dont know.

I don't have Cobb but I have a CS Test pipe (uncatted) and don't have any smoking issues. It seems like the smoke is luck, or unlucky of the draw.

when my car smoked i would sometimes get the second O2 sensor code for slow to respond
