I have the current mods-cobb sri,htp turbo inlet pipe,2nd cat delete. When I get the cobb accessport will this open up my powerband? Will I have power past 5700 rpm? the 6700 redline would be awesome..but heck id be happy with making power into the low 6000 range haha.

Don't count on it, it's not in the tuning that is limiting power up top but the small factory turbo that runs out of breath by about 6K. The mods and OTS AP maps help some but there still is not that much point in going past 6K. The AP will net you the most gains down low and in the midrange - the car just lunges in the midrange with most of the OTS maps.

Just drive the car the way it was intended, it's no Honda.

Thanks for the reply derspi my previous car was a si lol. I noticed you have a cp-e mm...thats my next mod..did that help alot with getting power to the ground?

^^

Si eh? Me too, I had a '99 Si. That car handled & rode very well, had a fantastic tranny but zero torque.

As for the CPE MM, it made a huge difference. I don't go making drag launches at every opportunity out on the streets and I have yet to track my car but this mount made shifting so much easier, quicker and better. Even if it doesn't reduce wheelhop (which I'm sure it does), the time you save in shifting will improve your ETs. It improves the tranny on the MS3 by quite a bit but it also introduces a bit more vibration when taking off but it's really minor considering how much it transforms the car.

Put it this way, I would rate my '99 Si tranny as a 8.5 - 9.0 out of 10.

Stock MS3 tranny is a 6.5 in my books.

MS3 tranny with CPE MM, Cobb STS & shifter weight and shifter base bushings makes it a 8.0. Most of the improvement coming from the MM.

FYI, the CPE MM I have is the 60-duro and I'm not certain they still make these. The current ones are 75-duro which makes them a bit stiffer so they could be a bit more noisy/harsh. Do a search though, there are reviews of both the 60-duro and 75-duro mounts.

Hey Zx2man saw you in the MS3 or WRX discussion over on 8th Civic :)

I suggest you get an aftermarket TMIC, it helps me hold most of my power to 6000 now.

Thanks Circle9...I think if I go the intercooler route im going cobb fmi, But isee what your saying. Ive heard lots of good things on the motor mount..just need to get that power to the ground. And I had a 07 si, awesome car..rev to 8500..just no torque.. Still a fun and reliable ride. Well after the cobb accessport I think im gonna get mods that will make the drive of the car better-mm,short throw shifter, lighter wider wheels..I really wanna go 17x8..I dont think you need 18 in wheels on a ms3..lighter and wider with stickier tires should help.

With the Stage 1+ ver.1.03 map installed on my car (all I have otherwise is the COBB intake and CS MM inserts) it finally has useable power above 6K RPM.

It actually comes in quite handy on autocross courses where it usually isn't worth it to shift into 3rd. It makes the car much less jerky and more smooth and easy to drive near redline.

How much extra hp and tq will a stage1+ 1.03 map add to my current mods-cobb sri w/amsoil dryflow filter, htp turbo inlet,2nd cat delete.???? Anice 20 hp and 20tq would be nice. altogether id be happy with 260 whp 280wtq....and ive seen people run higer than that with mscai and cobb ap..but you know now dynos run high..but I think those are realistic numbers for those mods, whos knows lol. all in all i think this is gonna be enough power for a dd fwd :)

A guy by the name of Cboney gained 15 hp and 22 lb-ft's from just an AP in addition to an intake. He put down 238 whp / 285 wtq, I think you could see at least 250/280 with your mods, but every car is different.

If you want a nice 20 hp/20 tq gain, just get a TMIC first.

Haha you been pushing that tmic idea on me Circle9.....But thats cause you have 1 and you know from personal experience what it can do right? Prabaly get the SU tmic if I do. Now........do i need a tune after I get the aftermarket tmic in?? cause im only adding 1 more power adder to my car this year, cause i plan on do other things like cpe mm,twm shifter, sway bar..and im not rich so thats pretty much all ican afford now..So...either the tmic or cobb ap..whats it gonna be Circle9? (thought)

I say go with a TMIC. Not only will you get a 20/20 gain, heatsoak will virtually be eliminated. Everyday when I get home, my TMIC is cold to the touch, and the car now pulls to 6k. No tune is needed with an aftermarket TMIC, but I do suggest you put in some 1 step colder plugs with either modification.

Yea, coming from an '07 Si, I had to learn not to run it to redline for the power. Learn to shift before 6000 rpms in this car, I did a little test with my MS3 when I just had an intake at the local 1/8 mile track. Running the car up to 6200 in each gear got me a 9.1 second pass, then I tried shifting at 5700 and I got a 8.9

awesome I was gonna go with colder plugs anyways. and will prabaly go towards the tmic direction..is there still aprab with the hoses from **********? living in the seattle area it doesnt get crazy hot or humid like down south..so heatsoak should be gone with this mod. also I guess you prabaly would have mentioned it..but your not experience fuel cut right? Thanks :)

get a dp. best gain i saw for the buck yet. i have quite a few mods.

i highly recommend the corksport dp. your getting way mor power increase and the factory turbo and tmic setup is more than sufficient with the mods you have. i get hardly any heat soak with three times the mods. my boost temps stay low. remember....you have the factory turbo so you need to pressurise a higher volume of air with the same psi of boost. you may get a higher rev but like said before...the factory turbo at 15 psi runs out of gas no matter what you do so your ultimately creating more turbo lag with the bigger IC. if you get a 20/20 with the IC (best case scenario) i guarantee youll push at LEAST a 30/30 with the dp for half the cost. my 2 cents. the dp is a wonderful mod and i promise the BEST bang for your buck without a doubt.

Damn california and there emissions!! I wish i could get one but I dont want to be illegal (what a wimp), but t second the TMIC wil be a great addition and you can definitely feel the diff (I went with ETS)

Good luck in your modding

Thank you for the suggestion on the CS dp...But IF i do go Downpipe..im going Cobb...I need atleast 1 cat here in washington to feel halfass legal lol. its more expensive but dont mind paying for the extra quality. But yep a good hp-to dollar ratio thats for sure :)

right now im running no cat in the dp but i have a high flow mini cat right after the dp flange which keeps it legal it MA. it runs good. i get a little boost spike but the turbo has no problem handling 22 psi.
