Cobb AP ?'s

Yes you can. I don't know why people typically go with Denso rather than NGK. For some of us who have run NGK's in many vehicles, both NA and forced induction over the years, we just get used to a particular brand, don't trust pre-gapping, and are used to making adjustments. I can say that irrespective of preference, the NGK Irridium IX's that I put in my car proved to be easily adjusted to .030 while still having the ground electrode properly centered over the tip.

Both Denso's and NGK's irridium plugs in proper heat range work very well, IMHO.

I do totally agree that you can't blame AP (or Standback) products themselves for blown engines. It's not the hardware or software, it's the knowledge and skill of the tuner that determines if a tune is both power enhancing and safe. But in the hands of someone just chasing hp/torque maximums for dyno sheet show and tells, or just trying to push the envelope on boost or leaned out AFR's, tunes can become engine grenades.

Just one guy's opinion.

I agree that they can, but even NGK recommends that you don't gap more than .008 each way. Can't say anything bad about NGK, but I don't like to fiddle with gaps if at all possible. Any time you re-gap a plug, you induce stresses (albeit minor) to the electrode, and that over time can cause fatigue.

If there isn't any difference between the two I'll just go with the ones available. I would always check the gap before installing them on the car even though they say they are pre gapped. I registered for the APR so I'll probably have it tomorrow. Takes 24 hrs. I'm sue I'll just use it for the LC. I didn't know that the factory ecu was able to handle the flat shifting without a wot box. I'm glad I never bought one. It always felt so natural for the car when I would do it. I can shift pretty fast so burning smell never occurs.

I have run Stg1+SF93v105 FMIC with a test pipe and have found it to be too lean. I tried running stage 2 with the test pipe and found that my Fuel pressure would fall too low. I'm presently running a custom tune created by another member based on the Stg1+SF91v105 FMIC. This tune is too rich and is safer but all the fuel being pumped is taxing my Fuel pump. Looks like my next mod will have to be the PTP fuel pump.

It seems that when you get an AP and start running more boost you will need to get the upgraded fuel pump at some point.

im currently on the stage 1 +sf 91 v105 fmic. seems to be doing ok but i need to get some more logs in before i say its perfect. hopfully it runs fine because i really dont want to get a custom tune. we shall see. where are you located? is it primarily cold there?

I'm in Ky and it has turned cold here. The car loves the cold air but the added power is taxing my fuel pump. I'm going to get the PTP fuel pump sometime in the spring and won't be getting a custom tune until I have a DP.

i see. im in so cal where the weather is never the same for more than 2 days. its typically in the mid 50s to 600s in the winter and hot as hell in the summer. i can imagine that its gonna be tough to get the car tuned the way i want it for both climates.
