COBB AP installed today

meaning less turbo lag and faster throttle response??? Im no expert but thats what it sounds like to me. Ive spent countless hours reading up on these forums. Usually people are bias to what they chose in their cars which often makes it pretty difficult to get an accurate answer. Believe me ive spent way more hours then I would have liked learning about simple stuff that seems so basic now that I know it.

No, not with an upgraded tmic. What you get is this:

1 - @ stock boost, the turbo works less to reach the desired psi
2 - @ upgraded boost of +2 psi, the turbo works the same as it did on a stock tmic but you get the extra power

Again, it's all about efficiency.

Just a update. I've scheduled a dyno day for nov 1. Will get a comparison of bone stock (last dyno day I was at) and now with test pipe and the AP.

I say we get back on track and talk about the goodness that is the COBB Accessport.

VRMS6, what does the boost hold at? I really want this, but I dont want to be pushing anything over 17 on my DD. Also, how does it feel? Is there still the little "studder"? How are overall driving impressions off of WOT?

I havent really had a chance to play with the AP in "live data" mode yet. Other than the peak boost reading of 20.4psi I dont have any more info.
Hope to get more readings in the next few days.
As for feel it really makes a noticeable difference in daily driving. You feel the diff in HP. As for studder there is none power is progressive and smooth...
Overall Im extremely happy with this purchase...

Damn, I am torn between standback and ap. I just have this horrific vision of my car being tuned on a dyno blowing up, and then me paying a loan over 5 more years on a car I don't have and can't drive. Besides, even though standback is $600, when you factor in tuning and install (I'm not gonna risk messing that up, or what $500 for a harness) the ap is a deal.

Also, anyone have any experience going from intake, tbe, fmic untuned to the cobb ap map for all three?? what was it like??

shouldn't you be asking the ms3 guys this as they also have the ap? results may vary from ms3 to ms6.

I'm thinking the purchase is going to be both the AP and the DH at the same time. One to tune, the other to datalog. I'm also waiting to see what kind of maps they generate, as I'm hoping for one for the CAI/TP/BPV crowd soon enough.

Well finally got the dyno run done.... Overall got +23hp over my bone stock run. Whats amazing is the 81+hp increase over stock at 6000rpm. A direct result of the AP holding boost and not tapering off at higher RPMs....
All this on a 91 octane map from COBB... Cant wait to see what a 93 octane map or even a custom tune will yield.....

Wow, that is pretty good! What are the actual numbers you put down?

How sensitive are the maps? Here in florida we have 93 octane. Will there be any risks if I run the base 91 map with my bolt on mods? Ive heard the gains on this thing are sick but I wish they would generate some additional maps. Especially considering you pay 700 bucks for this thing.

While we are talking about which maps exsist, I have not seen or heard anything about upgraded tmic maps. just got an ETS 3.5.... does anyone run the fmic maps with new tmics?

its in bova80's sig he has been posting about it all over the site is still under construction but you can still download the maps.

there is no danger in running a 91 map if running 93 octane, you'll actually be safer, but you won't have all the power you would if it was a 93 octane map.

I see. Very tempted to buy one of these but im trying to stick to bolt ons to keep warranty. I dont want to bring my car in for a check up and have them see my previosly flashed ecu. I know you can revert to stock but they can still tell right?
