Cobb AP Discussion Thread

ok quick question...now that i have a custom tune...if i wanted to get a catback exhaust how bad do you think it would effect the tune? i just dont want to spend another $250 on another tune if i decide to get a catback exhaust down the road.

A catback should have a minimal effect on your tune unless you are removing the second cat which depending on your DP, may have been removed already.

Sorry, didn't read your mod list. I don't think a cat back would affect your tune much if you are running a test pipe.

I am a tad confused on the concept of the MAF tuning.

I understand if you are in the negatives you are running rich and need to pull that percentage from the maf tables.

Is the concept of doing this so you can just flash and rip without waiting for the ecu to relearn the trims?

the concept of maf tuning is to get it calibrated correctly so your car can know just how much air is coming in accurately. the car does a good job with fuel trims but you don't want to be more then +/- 8%.

Pics of it in your car? Does the wire go through the center of the gooseneck, or is it just ziptied to the gooseneck? I would think it would look better if the wires were invisible...

Zip tied to it based on the pictures on the website.

Have you visited here and downloaded the help file? It will tell you how to do it.

How did you take these logs? What were your throttle inputs and such?

EDIT

I just realized I sounded like I was being a forum *****, but I wasn't trying to be a dick lol.

would you guys be willing to look at some logs for me and my ms3, seems to be more going on here than the MS3 section with ATR

Sure! Just post em up and between the handful of us that have an idea of what we're looking at we'll give all the help we can.

Got some logs today to tune the maf.

Any help would be appreaciated.

any input on these logs?

I think I know what I am doing but i want to see if someone who actually does is doing the same thing I am. :)

I would say because at idle aka 3 g/s I get about -7.1 I would need to use the multiplier by 92.9% correct?

Thought I'd post up; just got an AP and installed the Stage 1+MSCAI 93 octane map. I haven't done any real data capture yet to verify my butt dyno impressions, but it does seem to have significantly affected spool up. From live data I've noticed boost spikes as high as 19.6 psi, but I'm not sure how long that is being sustained; I'm not experiencing any boost or fuel cut. My LTFT's are way high, and were before I got the AP. I assumed and others have confirmed it was probably due to the intake, so I'm going to go step by step and get my MAF settings right first. I've got other mods (SU TMIC and test pipe) that are going to have to hold off until I get a handle on ATR, unless there's an OTS map for the MSCAI and a TMIC that I'm not aware of.
