Cobb acessport need to stay plugged in?

Does the cobb acess port need to stay plugged in to the obd2 or can u just install one of the stages and unplug it because i have aerforce scan guage plugged into my obd2

you dont have to keep it plugged in.

only reason to keep it plugged in is if you want to use it as a gauge to display engine data, or datalog, or check CEL, etc etc

^ yep. For giggles check the RPM signal received by the Cobb unit vs the factory tach. Basically set it and forget it beyond the above mentioned.

You can also get an OBDII splitter to run them both. You probably don't want this full time as it is a lot of clunky wires where you don't want them.

the only annoying thing about running the AP as a gauge is, it will be turned on no matter what when it's plugged in... car on.. key out, etc. So you have to unplug the actual cable itself. Only other option is getting a USB cable with a switch or something...or keep bothering cobb to implement a shutoff option or something

best option for mounting it is out of plain site... i'm sure their are people that will break a window hoping that can get their hands on a 700 dollar piece even though it wouldn't work in their car... just my .02

get an ipod holder thing that clips to the air vents. Only downside is when its really hot in the summer here in FL the blocked airflow sucks. You can also close the far left air vent and double side tape it... or doubleside tape/velcro it anywhere else you'd like.

Yes, it's been a few weeks since I have driven the car, but as I recall the discrepency got larger the higher the RPM, typical with factory tachs but I never bothered to find out why.

Ditto...that's one reason I don't leave my dh installed.
Some nucklehead might think it's sonme kind of gps and break the window to steal it.
