Anybody know anything about the CNT racing cat-back exhaust system? Its said to be made with t-304 stainless and sounds good from clip. Its reasonably priced at $319. Im curious if anyones heard anything about it.

iv heard talk of it on MSF, try there for installed pics and audio, if i remember correctly the guy was happy with it

I have been using this exhaust for ~4 months, and I like it very much. It sound really nice when driving around town with a little growl, but perfectly quite on the highway. The only issue I have is the exhaust hit the black bumper trip when cold starting in the morning. I think it is really work the price, and with a tune you will pick some HP. Hypertech said ~12 hp with the Magnaflow kit on Horsepower tv, applying same theory.

We get 0hp gain from a catback lol. All the restriction in our exhausts is upsteam aka the cat and downpipe. There are better places to spend money if you're looking to pick up a few ponies. If you just want to be louder then yep cat-back will def work for you!

And +1 on MSF for more info, they are sponsors there. and there are a few threads about this.

I have been really considering this CBE as well. I have a test pipe and a resonator delete, love the sound, but the drone gets old...and the wife hates how loud it is. If the CNT has a similar tone but less drone (which it seems like it might)....the price is right!

I put a big 3 inch straight through reso in the middle of my test pipe (see sig below) and it solved the drone without adding any measurable backpressure. I'm running full catless dp/rp into stock CBE and the drone was ear splitting and headache producing in a daily driver situation, but adding the reso absolutely solved the problem. Way, way, way cheaper than a CBE.

Oh, and in your situation, putting the stock reso back in might be all you need. But with a catless dp and dp, even with the stock resos, the drone at 2,500 is hellish bad.

MSMS3, i'd love to retain the aggressive tone of my car, but eliminate the drone. (probably impossible to have both worlds..) from the outside, is your car more aggressive sounding than stock?

Bought one with the blue tip today, I'll let you know how I like it when it gets here in a week.

That's not totally true. Something will be gained, but not much. Plus it helps for future mods or if you're trying to get over 300whp.

Yes. 3 inch catless dp/rp produces a very agressive sound. The recepipe reso tames it a little while keeping the personality and knocking down the drone.

I'm thinking because I only have a race pipe and stock DP that with the addition of a resonator with this exhaust it'll be plenty quiet enough to keep it a sleeper.

Installed my newly purchased CNT catback. Came in properly packed in bubble wrap. All welds look great, quality is very good. Had it on for just a few days so far and very happy with it.

so with this cnt exhaust, does the 30 deg angle mean the angle of the tip bevel? or does it actually come out at a 30 degree angle (crooked) when you look at it straight from the rear??
