clutch/flywheel/new motor ordered

Just as an update because i blew my motor i just decided to order a new one. I found one outta a crashed mazda3 with only 179 miles on it. I got it delivered to my shop for $1500 and they threw in a new upper motor mount as mine was cashed.
Also just ordered the Spec stage 2 clutch and fidanza flywheel. i figured this would be the best time to change sumthin like that, while i had the motor out. the guy at ultrarev gave me both for $792.85 shipped so i guess i gotta decent deal on it. anyways ill post pics after i get the clutch and flywheel in.

P.S. is there anything out there that i should watch for as far as this new motor??? its got really low miles so its not even outta the break in period.

get some head work done to it while you have it out... most shops charge less then a grand if you bring them the head.... a pretty good deal... sounds good man, hope you don't have the same luck with this one...

I wish I had a crate motor to go wild on. Howd you manage to find one so cheap? No damage?

no s***... 1500 shipped i would have jumped all over that... pulleys, head work, forged internals... you can go nuts at your own pace... though as his car is in pieces maybe its a bit rushed but stil...

no im not rushed. ive got the old motor still too.
i got it that cheap cuz i know someone who owns a junkyard and they got it in a few days ago.

haha yeah. i was thinkin about sellin the pieces to the old motor. cuz everything is still good except the rod bearings. i know that the crank from mazda goes for about $1100 and the head WITHOUT valves and springs is $1500. so if there was someone who had an interest in the stuff i could save them alot of $$$. oh yeah and that balance shaft assy is like $1400. so if anyone wants a backup of anything lemme know. (thumb)

Oh sorry... i didnt know if you followed the mazda3 threads. Umm im not sure what the exact cause was. i spun a connecting rod bearing cuz it was knocking then once we got it apart ALL of the bearings were in pretty bad shape. we think it might have been the oil pump because i always got the oil changed at the dealer at the right time. i never noticed any leaks (even after i got the motor out) and i wasnt burning oil but it was low.
OH YEAH....i know what it was. the sticker on the motor said that it was made on xmas day so someone was pissed they had to work.lol
