Hey everyone! Long time no see.

So, I have my car at the dealership for the second time. A couple of months ago, my car started making a clunk noise when put into drive or reverse and then start to drive. This time they are telling me that according to Madza, this is NORMAL and that it is coming from the ABS. Apparently there is a bulletin about it...

Have any of you dealt with or heard about this?

Any info would be GREATLY appreciated.

I wouldn't call it a click, it's much more of a clunk. It can often be heard over the radio and a/c going. Dealership gave me the whole ABS load of hooey. I don't get why it would start after 1.5 years. Also, last week it was supposedly because my axle needed lube (that is a way different thread ;D )... Anyhow I am so not happy with "Yeah it's just going to clunk" as an answer.

A clunk can also be because of bad engine mounts. At least 2 or them are oil filled, so if they have leaked, then it would be visible, and cause the engine to rock too much possibly causing the clunk you hear. A test you can do is pull the e-brake, start the vehicle, shift into FORWARD and REVERSE and give it a little gas. If it's the mounts, you will hear to the clunk then too. I'd alos take it to an independent shop if your dealer isn't any more help.

Is the clunk as soon as you give it gas after changing gears, or several feet after giving it gas and driving? There's a difference.
