clunking noise after installing mp3 springs

i recently had mp3 springs installed on my '01 ES sedan and i've noticed that when i go over a big bump or uneven pavement, my rear suspension will make a loud clunking sound.
it's not the tires rubbing but the sound is coming from the rear suspension itself.
my mechanic who installed the springs said he thinks it's the endlinks hitting the axel. he put chalk on the endlink and the chalk transfered onto the axel when the car clunked. i've never heard of this problem when people installed mp3 springs onto their cars.

the noises sometimes come from either rear side, sometimes both at the same time. i think i've read that many people have installed mp3 springs on their cars with no problems. why am i having problems? this has got me very very frustrated.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Make sure your endlinks are secured properly to the struts. The springs if not properly seated will make a popping noise when going over bumps. It sounds like you have a loose endlink though. These springs only drop the car .75 of a inch there is no way that this caused this a problem with endlink hitting the axle unless he messed up. Pay attention to the noise, If it happens while you are turning then it is a unseated spring. If it happens over bumps in the road then something is loose or not properly installed most likely it is a endlink, but not rubbing a axle the endlink isn't even close to the axle. Sorry if I sound harsh but it is your safety at stake. Just take it easy around corners till you figure it out unseated springs really don't hurt anything they just make noise. But, a loose endlink could cause you to lose control of your car if it breaks loose under hard cornering.

Edit: By the way welcome to the forum hope my answer helps.:D
