I installed a set of used eibach springs on my p5 a few weekends ago that i bought from another member here. When me and my buddy were installing them, we noticed that the coil of the spring did not line up with the rubber seat that sits inside the mounting cap. That rubber cap had a groove in it that the eibach spring overlapped and didnt seat properly like the factory struts did. So now, when driving and hitting bumps or a quick turn, i get a small clunk from the springs. This doesnt affect handling, but it is annoying.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Does eibach offer different spring mount caps? If i got a set of Tokico blues, would the spring perch on the new struts reorient the spring so that it fits properly in that rubber hat on top? Do i have the wrong springs?
