Clunk after Mount Recall

I have a "clunk" when starting my car after the mount recall. I only hear it when I start the car. It's not very loud and honestly, doesn't really bother me other than the fact it wasn't there before.

Anyone else experience this after the #4 mount recall fix?

I just got my re-call done yesterday and I haven't heard a Clunk :\
When did you get it done? Have you called you service dep and told them?

They said to give it a little time. I'll have them recheck it when I go in for my oil change.

Maybe those incompetent techs replaced the wrong engine mount and left the #4 and it finally gave loose?

Not to be nosy, but does this recall apply to the regular MZ3? My buddy purchased a 2005 mazda 3s wagon and the motor mount connected to the transmission broke off the the side of the transmission and fell out of the car. Mazda denied his warranty because he had lowering springs.

haha, wtf. mazda techs FTL!

I got a vacuum gauge for free this way. The poor tech that lost this must be kicking himself. I couldn't figure out where the rattling noise was coming from for the longest time. Have the dealer check for loose sway bar nut/bolts also. I've noticed a new rattle from my armrest this week. Check that too.

Swamp, do you have an aftermarket torque mount (AWR, SU, CS inserts) or were you holding out? With my new grade 10 bolt, there's more *force* felt when my engine starts, but I wouldn't go as far as describing it as a clunk. Of course, clunk is a relative term and mine could be clunking a helluva lot more than yours.

clunk clunk clunk

do you have a CAI????? IF so i noticed when i installed my MS CAI that i could hear clunk once and while. it ended up being the CAI needing to be adjusted a slight bit to clear the sub frame.

i would check that, just rock the CAI back and forth. if you have no CAI then time to go to the dealer.
