close call!

we have had heavy winds the last few days gusting up to 55mph,
this morning i got sent to get some goods from the hardware store, so i got in my p5 and off i went. came back 30 mins later and in the spot i was parked the post came down.

i had a friend who's car got smashed by a huge friggin' tree that just snapped from the wind. ouch

My roomate works at a retail store... one of the light posts (the friggin tall ones) fell over. Crushed 2 employees' cars. I guess the manager had just gotten a new fully loaded Grand Prix...

The store replaced both cars. They also checked the other light poles and found 3 out of the other 12 to be unstable and needing replacement.

You were most fortunate.

Yeah same here, strong gust of winds in VA. Knocked our DirecTV signal out.
