Clinton or Obama

Clinton or Obama

Clinton runs a dirty campaign pure and simple. She would raise taxes, nationalize health care, her level of experience is only slightly higher than Senator Obamas and they are very similar on most issues apart from the fact that Obama for the most part has run a clean and hopeful if somewhat shallow campaign. I think that they would BOTH be worse presidents than President Bush. I'd vote for neither.

While I'm not a huge McCain fan (McCain Feingold Sucks, needs to be stronger on border security), the man has TONS of experience, knows what it means to serve in the armed forces, has a history of working in a bi-partisan manner. The only to knocks against him are his temper and age but I'd feel better with him at the helm.

But since I don't get citizenship for another year, I'll be watching from the sidelines.

Did I mention Hillary is a power-mad, win at all costs, soul crushing machine. :)

i guess ur better off in the sidelines (nailbyt) Since u think bush is actually better than these 2 candidates, read up on your facts plz :). Bush is probably 1 of the worst president ever. (not to mention , he has a very low presidential rating )

just my 2 cents, this is my opinion , right now, economy sucks, gas are high , taxes are high, and we are in the war , spending billions of dollars....thx 2 bush...so.. im not picking a republican candidate this year :)

on another note, i think clinton would be a better president since she has more experience than obama ...but thats my opinion....

im thinking if obama wins...mcain might crush him cuz of lack of experience crap...oh well..we'll just see :)

Obama, who is the best candidate and has absolutely nothing to prove because of his race or for historical purposes. I've always liked McCain but he would simply be more of the same and that is not what the country needs moving forward.

This whole experience stuff is garbage and holds no merit with me. What foreign relations or policy experience did Regan or Bush2 have prior to getting elected? Gimme a break on that please.

Counting down the days until the end of one of, if not the worst presidential terms is over!

All you people voting for these two, what policies of theirs do you like?

Why are you voting for either?

Do you actually know their stances on the issues?

How will Barack "change" America? Is change good or bad? How much does this "change" cost? What exactly is he going to be changing?

Not trying to cause conflict, I am genuinely interested, as I am refusing to vote for any of these candidates because I actually do my research on their policies, and proposed changes.

Economy - How is Barack and Hillary getting rid of tax breaks going to help that? Also, how is a socialistic healthcare system going to help that AT ALL? Their economic policies will ruin us, while they claim to be "helping the working class." How are more earmarks and their history of giving money away for frivolous things going to help us AT ALL? Both these candidates have proven themselves to be fiscally unresponsible with OUR money.

Gas prices are normal, and actually really good globally - With increased demand comes more costs to the manufacturer, which passes down to us. Oil companies work on profit margins, always have, they are not ripping us off. If you want cheaper gas don't vote Democrat.

Taxes - What exactly would Clinton or Obama's new policies do to that? Do you even know their stances on tax policy? Please explain if you do, cause I do my research, and you could be mistaken.

Illegal immigration costs us more than the war in Iraq. Why are you not concerned about that over the war in Iraq? This effects you more at home than the war. Our economy is suffering because of the costs of illegals. They are ruining the lower income job market here, taking jobs away from hard working citizens.

Plus in Iraq we are doing more than bringing democracy to the Middle East, we are securing our livelyhood for the future.

Man, I can't believe some of you people are actually voting. It hurts me to see this kind of unintelligent voting.

Oh, and just FYI - I AM the middle income guy with a wife and kid at home that these candidates are supposedly supposed to be "helping"

He knows enough not to give kooks like Iran's leader the time of day. Obama talks like having Ahmedinijhad (sp?) over for tea will somehow stop him from wanting to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.

Believe me, people think the war is expensive, they have no idea.

On each of their respective websites it explains every question you ask. Time for some reading!(cool)

If I voted today...Obama.

Alot of time between now and November. Little early for me. But NO CLINTON...unlike her husband I cant stand her.

While I have been dissapointed with Bush's spending (even though I'm looking forward to my stimulus package check, it was a fiscally BAD idea and he has spent too much on the whole), Obama and Hillary would make his spending seem like a walk in the park. Socialized medicine and entitlement programs ain't cheap. Tax hikes SLOW economic growth. The economy is suffering mostly because of the Housing fiasco and thats not the presidents fault. Thats the fault of greedy lenders and borrowers. So I mostly agree with you.

Gas prices are normal, and actually really good globally - With increased demand comes more costs to the manufacturer, which passes down to us. Oil companies work on profit margins, always have, they are not ripping us off. If you want cheaper gas don't vote Democrat.

Totally agree. While gas prices are high, we still have some of the cheapest gas in the world (just ask the brits). India and China are upping the demand as they grow so fast so the price is gunna rise. The cost of drilling for, refining, storing and transporting gasoline are huge and the Oil companies deserve what they make for getting us the product. Who doesn't deserve it is the govt. Do people know how much taxes are in each of each gallon of gas they buy? It they did a little digging, they would be shocked.

Taxes - What exactly would Clinton or Obama's new policies do to that? Do you even know their stances on tax policy? Please explain if you do, cause I do my research, and you could be mistaken.

Yeah, this one needs no further explanation. Kiss a nice chunk of your paycheck goodbye if either of these 2 get elected.

I know illegal immigration is expensive. Heck I was involved in a 3 car accident a few days ago where the occupants of the car that caused the accident fled the scene on foot and the vehicle was uninsured so the guy behind me who took the brunt of the hit is outta luck. Being an immigrant myself, I understand their need for a better life but the naturalization system must be reformed to be faster and especially to SECURE THE FREAKIN BORDER!!!!! Thats just a national security issue even more than an immigration issue. This is why I also support the Fair Tax or any other sort of consumption tax. That way even illegal immigrants pay taxes. Cuz they gotta eat too! :)

The great thing about this nation is that you are free to have your say. Hopefully all of us are looking into the positives and negatives of all the candidates. I can't even vote so it sucks for me, but I hope all my fellow Zoom Zoomin brothers and sisters are doing their homework and learning as much as they can about who will lead this nation in these strange times.

It was a real simple poll, Obama, Clinton or neither. Nobody owes an explanation to any one on why or how they vote. Use your vote to vote based on your beliefs and don't worry about others. Don't assume that because someone differs from your beliefs that they are casting an unintelligent vote.

No matter whom the president is, Israel has nothing to worry about. We will continue to send them money and military support as needed.

That's the stupidest thing I've read today, besides the one person telling Donas it's good he can't vote.

If thye start a political thread, and then you don't like the kind of thread it becomes because of political discussion you sir should not be posting.

I asked simple questions about why people are voting for their candidates. I'm sorry if I make so many good points you can't answer.

At least you got the sorry part right. Your on record as refusing to vote for either candidate. You assume unintelligent voting because its different from yours.
Your opinions are just that and not so many good points which need to be answered.

Hopefully I don't get insta-jumped for asking this question, but.

Can anyone recommend some good websites to do some reading that AREN'T affiliated with any of the candidates? I want to get myself a lil' edumacayshun on all this .. but whenever I try to search for info on my own, I come up with so much bulls*** that I wind up getting frustrated and giving up. It's most likely due to inexperience with how to successfully search for political stuff, not knowing how to filter out all the 'spam' .. but, any suggestions for a political n00b?
