Cleanest boost gauge install #2 Copycat....but a little different = )

Yeah i guess for less than $20 of parts. Search on here, i think there is another thread with almost the same topic name where another guy did the same thing, someone somewhere on here lists the parts needed if i remember correctly.

If you have money to burn just get the one on ebay.lol

It's $250 because it comes with the Greddy boost gauge included. The gauge is about 200 new so you're basically paying $50 for the custom vent fit.

Yeah the Greddy gauge isn't cheap. I plan on doing it with an Autometer ES series gauge which looks like a close match and its about $75 for the gauge. if I can just figure out how to get the damn vent apart!!!!!!

I just did this same mod over the Xmas and took extensive pictures-- I am going to be doing a complete write up with step by step instructions--hopefully it will be up tomorrow. You think the Greddy gauge is expensive? I did the Defi 60mm BF Series gauge-- its about $200, I can only afford it because I have a 'guy'.

your air vent is gone! why would you do that? well maybe its not an issue for northerners but here in tx that would be a dumb idea., thats why i did mine here, looks very clean almost stock even, same exact color at as the rest of the lights at night too. what do you think?

Why?

1. It looks super clean-- the Defi Gauge has a silver bezel just like the stock vent edging--almost matches perfectly. IMO, there is nowhere else in the car that looks 'good' for a single gauge. I did the whole steering column mount on my WRX and it got really annoying after a while.
2. I have like 10 other vents that still work! Personally I thought the circular vents in the ms3 were a PITA to aim right, I could never get it aimed perfectly. I usually use the 'low/defrost' setting anyway-- having the air blow right on me dries my eyes out...
3. I am saving the lower console spot for a UEGO wideband.

Seriously, if you did that in the How-To section that would be amazing. I really want to do a boost gauge install, such as the vent idea, but have no idea where to start. Not only would it help me, but tons of other people on the forums.

I have the day off tomorrow so I plan on snapping a few more pix and doing the writeup. Check back tomorrow eve.

theres plenty of room next to my boost gauge down there to but the wideband display, thats was my next step too!! i like my s*** on the down low, you dig. the air vent mod looks sweet though im not dogging it at all, i just like cold air to blow on my face when its 110 degrees here in houston, hahaha
