Clay Bar + Car Wax (Rail Dust)

I noticed a bunch of rail dust on my CX-5 and I think it's about time I clean it off now that winter is finally over.
After looking online it looks like my best bet would be to purchase a clay bar to remove the rail dust and then follow it off by waxing the vehicle.
I wanted to now if anyone can suggest a particular brand to purchase for both the clay bar and particular kind of wax?

I have heard pretty good things about Mothers Clay Bar System

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Any clay should work fine. I usually use Meguiar's since I can get it locally but recently bought Nanoskin Autoscrub Sponge as an alternative to clay. Wax? Not sure.. I just use OTC Meguiar's on top of my Blackfire Crystal Seal (Paint Protectant/Seal).

I agree with runtohell about the clay bar. One is pretty much as good as another. I recently switched to Turtle Wax Ice, having read so many good things about it (the paste version). The results were pretty impressive. I've never seen water bead like that! We'll see how long it lasts, but it seems more like a sealer than a wax.

You might want a lubricant with the clay. If you do, you can use ONR or something similar (Optimum No Rinse) and use it when you dry as well. For wax sky is the limit. If you are price sensitive:

$10-20 - Collinite 845 or 476 or Fleetwax, Meguiars M26 Yellow Wax
$21-60 - Pinnacle Signature Series II, Zymol, Dodo Juice

If I were to buy one today I'd get Megs M26 (b/c I already have Collinite) and when I splurge it will be one of the three more expensive ones. (depends on car color, mine is soul red so I will likely get Zymol Rouge)

I took mine to the dealer and demanded they fixed the rail dust problem. My car was 6 months old. It should of been removed from day one. I would try taking it to dealer. See what happens

Huh? It isn't the dealer's fault. This happens to every vehicle. Moreso to those parked outside 24/7.

Rail dust gets on the vehicle when it's transported. The dealer should clay bar and wax all new vehicles upon delivery to the customer. At first you don't see the rail dust but later it appears. In white vehicles it to turns tiny rust spots that are visible. Some vehicles you might not even notice. Most of the vehicle comes with white plastic covering the body. All the exposed paint gets dust from the trains From working at a mazda dealer many years ago we used to clay bar and wax all vehicles.

hand washed my car 2 days ago, s***'s everywhere (ofc it stormed today).. I know a place that will wash, clay and wax for like $80. I might just go there.

Noticed rail dust a few days after taking possession. Used maguirs clay bar system and it all came off the paint with a few extra rubs on those spots. Never clay barred in my life and was amazed at the results.
