my friend just turned 18 (i will be in november) and he bought us some cigars to smoke to celebrate, i dont smoke cigarettes (never want to) and i smoked the ciger, smoked it the right way, not inhaling, just puffing into my mouth.

my question really is, who heres into cigars, it was a rather enjoyable experience but i wondering if i can get addicted to nicotine even if its not going into my lungs and how often would i have to do it to develop any kind of cravings?

hahaha, just dont smoke frequently. if you keep puffing on cigars it can jack up your teeth n mouth.

for me i wish i never started smoking cigs. it started out once a month, once every two weeks, once a week, once a day, and then 10-15 a day. it just creeps up on you like nothing.

just watch who you hang with i guess.

whats frequently? i wont ever smoke cigarettes, i was mainly worried about nicotine addiction because if im not addicted i can stop smoking the cigars whenever i want

haha, i never thought i would smoke cigarettes either. i hated the smell of people who smoked and look at me now.

i guess a lot of it is willpower too. if you know you will never smoke frequently then it wont happen. like my roomate, he only smokes when he's drunk and he has never smoked when straight.

just be careful! i guess once a month is fine but just dont hang with people who smoke cigars a lot of you'll be tempted to take a drag offa it

nicotine is addictive but you can beat it like any other drug.

smoke cubans. and only cubans.
as of right now smoking cigarettes is the biggest mistake i have made in my life. im a ****** addictm and if i dont have my nicotine, watch the **** out.
smoke a cigar a week, and you're safe. if you dont smoke one one week and start tweeking out, step off for awhile.

Funny thing is that I was doing cocaine & crystal meth among other things while at the club for about 2 years. Coke was pretty much every night while I was spinning for the last part of those two years. Now what's weird is that quitting coke & crystal was easier than quitting cigarettes... Go figure. I've been clean drugwise for two years in October but I still cannot quit smoking cigarettes.

I've seriously tried quitting, too. Cold turkey (no MSP jokes), Commit lozenges, Nicorette, Nicontrol, Wellbutrin (aka Zyban), and most recently "Smoke Away"...

yea..i went to school in nyc..and all i have ever did was eat trips and wil' out on all kinds of s***..i have been solid since april. smoking though, yea it creeps up on you. i have managed to more or less quit that as well..its tough man..but it can be done..and has worked for me..

Cigars are not your friend. imagine having your lips cut off because you've had a cigar hanging in your mouth half of your life and got cancer just like getting lung cancer from smokes.

No joke.. this happened to my friends father very recently.

if you smoke expensive cigars, it helps keep you from smoking them as much :) that's what i do (for the most part), i try to keep the cost of each cigar at ~$10, so i feel bad spending that much money on something that will be gone in less than an hour, so i don't do it as much.

Kids.
Start with small macanudo probably (so you can aim to finish one)
Then you can try Cohibas
When you finaly get it got to partagras and montecristo.

Enjoy.

I started black and milds (only puffing) when I was with the guys, and only when we drank. Than sometimes before we drank, I would puff one. pretty soon, we were smoking blacks and not even drinking. I found myself buying them alone, and smoking them. I finally decided to quit before it became a real addiction. I have been smoke free for a week now. Always stayed away from ciggerettes...they are evil.

I did cigarrets back in HS, but to be honest never really liked the flavor, as for cigars I only do them on "special" ocassions, enjoying good company and good conversation. I can go months without even thinking about it, the I'll do one and so on.

Not nearly as addictive as your 7-11 Marlboros.

Just one thing, if you don't like the taste or the sensation, just don't do them again, your coolnes level will remain the same and you will be the same !!! don't do it just for show.

Take it easy,

haha, thats what we smoked, black n' milds, that was the second day, the day before we puffed "backwoods"...2 days in arow, first time really smoking anything, this would make that my first day not smoking, no problems at all
