took a close look on the hood....couple chips..... all of them are very small...so I think I am lucky....BUT when I looked at the windshield, I am ":wtf: "... I got so many small chips on the windshield as well... I thought the paint on hood sucks...but I don't think our windshield sucks too...:(

Yeah, the bad thing is that madza won't replace it under warranty because they aren't stress cracks, but stone chips.

I got some estimates for a new windshield from private shops... cost is around 150 bucks total.

I have 3 chips at least, but don't feel they are worth $150. Maybe if one develops into a long crack...

Anyways, I hear to crack your window before leaving your car in the heat... it relieves pressure off the windshield. Don't know if that's true.... it is assuming the car is air tight.

if the chips are smaller than a nickel, look in the yellow pages and call a windshield repair shop. most of them have mobile units (a guy in a pickup truck) and will come to your work or house during the day. It costs about 30-50 bucks depending on the chip/crack and takes like 15 mins.

get them fixed now, before they start splitting and spidering and you have to pay for a new windshield

Also, most insurance companies cover rock chip repair, if you have full coverage. It's worth checking into and usually doesn't count as a claim.
