Child car seats fitting.

Was ready to buy a mazdaspeed or non turbo 3 however wife saw that you could not fit the baby and a kids seat in back without moving the front seats. Wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone. Maybe the gen 1 has more room.

A little disappointed.

We had the same issue this past weekend in my Protege. We were fitting our new baby seat and I'm going to have to move my seat forward a bit and straighten out the back rest a bit to make enough room for the baby seat. Mind you I'm 6 ft so it feels a bit tight. We might end up putting the baby seat in the middle as I have the latch system there too, or we might put it behind my wife's seat and have her move forward a bit.

Thanks for the link, it was perfect.

I am actually looking to upgrade from a 2003 protege ES. I have 2 car seats in it right now one rear facing and another front facing. I had to move the passenger seat up a bit to get it to fit in and the other one fits in ok. I am going to let the wife replace her car for now and I will drive her old one and sell the protege. I have had great luck with the protege and would like to stick with Mazda. I will just wait a few years and then look again. I am patient.

I did also check out the new Mazda 5 and it looks pretty sweet. However I really believe that they can do better then just the 2.0 option.

I have a booster and rear facing infant seat.wife has to slide up a little hit we all fit still pretty comfortably.

We have an '03 P5 and haul the 9 yr. old & 5 yr. old grandkids in it. There is a booster seat and a regular child's car seat in the back for them. We have to move the front seats up a bit for them to have sufficient leg room in the back. I'm 5' 10" and still fit comfortably in the front. I think you will find this the norm in almost any compact car. It may be time to step up to a Mazda6 or the new Mazda5.
