Chevy HHR SS priced from $22,995 - Updated with test drive!

Not bad. It's not for me or to my taste, but I can appreciate it for what it is.

The performance is interesting and exciting.

The styling is...polarizing.

What I like most is that it's different. Something less mundane on the roads. Boring sedans everywhere.

My boss just picked an HHR up last week. Not the SS. He really likes the look of it, but, he's a vintage kinda guy. He's built from the ground up a 32 Ford, and is in the process of an early 60's Triumph. So, to each his own.

I do like the SS option though.

Thats exactly the type of person this car will appeal to. Plus it will have some sporting characteristics so as to not be totally boring.

Chevy has said that they are, from this point forward, only putting the SS badge on cars that truly deserve it.

Then why are they putting it on SUVs, Pickups, and FWD hot hatches?

I work for GM, and I'll take my Speed3 over this.

The Trailblazer SS and Silverado SS existed before they came to this conclusion. The HHR SS and Cobalt SS, with 260hp and an LSD, should perform well enough to deserve an SS badge. I haven't heard any complaints from the media who have driven the HHR, and believe me, they've had no problem with berating Chevy for overusing the SS badge in the past. The Equinox Sport was also going to get an SS badge until they made this decision.

the local dealer has one and it has a front mount to! i dont no how thick it was but it did take up the whole in the middle of the bumper it was looking!
