Chevrolet is using VTEC engines now?!?>!?!?!?!?

Ok, so now that I have your attention!

Today I was driving home from Reno, NV...heading to Oregon. So anyways I am on Highway 395 heading North about 2 miles outside of Reno. So I am driving and I hear this "BBBBBBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZHHHMMMMMZZZZZ"(my impression of a fart can muffler) coming up. So I look to my right and I see this little chevy S-10 with this nasty as hell vinal runnig all down the side, than this HUGE!!! wing (bow) mounted to the tailgate. This thing was massive....

So this idiot passes me, and WTF do I see on his tailgate?

a big ass badge that read

"VTEC"

WTF YOU s*** HEAD?! Are you that stupid! Sucks for me because I didn't have a digital camera. I was with my mom and was like "Holy s***! Hey! Do you have a camera on that phone?" and...she didn't.

See now that they are branding a chevy with a VTEC...they have crossed the line! s*** is gonna hit the fan.!!

Ha! Ha! you got passed by a VTEC Chevy!!! Was there a gun rack in the back window and a confederate flag???(rice)

No, no flags or gun rack, but he could have used the wing on the truck as a gun rack I suppose.

I have been wondering, do people simply dont' know that vtec is for hondas or they think that vtec means redlining or something?

I know Saturn is using a Honda engine in the Vue, at least I think it is in the Vue, but definitely in one of there cars.

As far as my knowledge goes saturn isn't using any honda engines. They are using the engines out of the opals(sp). So unless those are hondas...I don't think they are using em.

i was just about to say what vin said. i read that somewhere too. i think i actually saw it on like fifth gear or something. i think before long everyone will be using everyone elses parts. just makes it easier that way. never in a million years would i have thought GM would be sourcing parts or motors from Honda.

to hell with new chevy's. I used to own 3 of them, all Z28s. Now I got an 03 mp5 that would kill all three and rack up 300K and 30mpg. I don't know about any vtec development from Gm, but they are biting everyones s***.

Well this badge on the truck I seen was factory, that is for sure.

For GM using the honda's engine in the VUE? Maybe it is cheaper to do so in some bizaare ass way? No idea...

It wasn't from the factory man. Think about it for a second. "VTEC" Is a trademarked name to honda. If GM did in fact implent a variable valve timing technology, it certainly wouldn't be called VTEC..Think about VVL (Nissan) VVTi (Toyota)

I see honda VTEC badges on all kinds of cars..It never seems to end.
