After 14 months on jack stands I finally had a salvage yard replaced my engine with one that only has 65K for $1300. The car runs great now except they added more scratches to the body and neglected to tighten the valve cover bolts and oil filter.
Now I'm slowly repairing everything that is broken so I can sell it. The first was the broken fog light. After two months and $28 in return postage for a failed attempt to purchase a right size replacement on ebay I went to Kragen and purchased a set of Pilot Truck Driving Lights. I'll post the outcome of the failed ebay transaction when everything is finalized.
The Pilot light set only cost $43 after tax. They are 5.5 inches in diameter and total height is a little less than 6 inches with the mounting bracket. The glass is very thick but the housing is plastic so installing an 85w bulb is not recommended. I removed the plastic lens guard and they fit perfectly. I installed them in less than an hour which includes soldering on new connectors. They don't look exactly like OEM but they are close enough and if one breaks it'll be cheap to replace.
These lights look exactly like the lights on ebay selling for $70 to $80 dollars. You guys smell something fishy here? I'll elaborate on this later.
Next project is to weld supports on the rear sway bar end link mounts so I can reinstall my progress sway bar. The supports should keep the mounts from bending and breaking the end links.
