"cheap boost" mod--QUESTION HELP!
So i've heard alot about this "cheap +2psi" using a $5 carb. spring.
See thread:

I'm NOT asking about this mod vs. a MBC or anything like that. All i want to know is is it safe without a boost gauge? A lot of people who did this made references to it like "i was at 7psi stock and this put me up to 9". Obviously, i would have no way of telling this.
The thread also recommends running cooler spark plugs (copper NGK BKR7E with a .032 gap).
So once again, my question is-- would it be ok to do this with just the spring and plugs with no boost gauge?
thanks in advance.
EDIT: QUESTIONS
so i went to autozone today and got my copper plugs and the springs.
Got a few questions:
1- Which spring to use? The thread says the "biggest" but is that the longest or the one with the biggest spring diameter, etc?--i want to know fore sure because the tension in these springs is very different and i want to make sure i have the right one.
2- Is there a way to get the heat shield off without taking off the O2 sensor? If not--what's the best way to remove the O2 sensor?
thanks
