The tailgate light on the trunk door of my 07 mazda cx9 grand touring doesn't work. I think it's burned.
Do I need to change the whole part or i can just change the lights inside? And How to?

you just need to change the light bulb, see SECTION 3 in this link :

if you're talking about the license plate light, you just need to change the light bulb also,
no need to replace the whole part, the clear plastic pops out with a flathead screwdriver,
instructions should be in the manual.

Third center brake light already has red lens so get regular white for maximum brightness,

same for quarter panel rear tail lights, unless you have the LED type, then forget it, for 2013 thru 2015, mazda went cheap and got rid of the LED quarter panel taillights.

Turn signals are amber color,

Only one that should be white is the license plates lights, get low profie white LEDs for the license plates lighting they like nicer than the old fashioned yellowish lights.

depends on which brake light you are referring to and what year is your CX-9,

there are 3 total,

qty. 1 in the middle high on top center below rear spoiler
(I just checked, this is a custom LED, not a bulb, you have to buy an OEM replacement.)

qty. 2 on either side by the quarter panels, if your CX-9 year is between 2007-2012,
you can't change the lights in those quarter panel tailights, those are custom LED circuit boards,
you have to buy the Mazda OEM WHOLE assembly, it's not cheap.

While in park and when it's dark and with the engine shut off,
have someone sit in the driver seat and press the brake pedal while you stand in the back
and see which brake light does not light up.

if your CX-9 is 2013+ then the quarter panel lights are just regular inexpensive old fashion bulb that you can change yourself

check link here to see what bulb type you will need:

I would check the fuses first just to rule those out first before buying expensive OEM parts.

I'm going to guess either a 194 or a 7440, as is customary for Mazda. The Sylvania guide offered no help.

Sent from the wrong side of the tracks.

yep, it's just a tiny 194 bulb, it's not a brake light per se, more like a marker light at night for rear drivers to see you.....

it's not a two stage light i.e. it doesn;t shine brighter when you hit the brakes

2010-2012 CX-9's don;t even have them

makan dan, where the heck did you get that pic from, are those LEDS in the bumper (green arrows) ?????

SWEET !! I've never seen a CX-9 with LEDS IN THE BUMPERS, can't miss those, less chance of getting rear ended

I've seen Infiniti EX35 have those light up when they make turns (looks weird though to have turn signals flashing from the bumpers)

also the old Lexus RX bumper lights also lit up
