Changing pads

I was just wondering if changing the pads on the MSP is the saame as the MP3

It's pretty close. I didn't read the other article in great detail, but it looks similar. Overall, pads and rotors on this car are pretty simple.

The trickiest part was with the rears. After I turned the rear pistons back in, I couldn't get the caliper closed down onto the caliper carrier. Turns out, upon closer inspection, that the grooves in the piston that were used to turn it back into the caliper had to line up with a little knub to allow the piston to close back into place.

Otherwise, if you've done disc brakes before, there's no real trick to the MSP's. The rear pistons need a caliper tool to rotate the piston back into the caliper and the fronts do not. They just push back into place with a C-Clamp or another attachement to the piston tool.

This is a great tool that's saved me much trouble in the past.

It's got almost every possible attachment for all different caliper types.

Hrm... i don't recall lining anything up, just retracting them sufficiently.

You may have just gotten it right the first time. I've also heard about 2 different rear caliper types as well. Not sure, though.
