changing oil. What filter??

you'll have to look it up at an auto parts store. do you know what you're doing ? are you changing the oil?

make sure if its your first time you have someone look on who knows what their doing, just in case.

i've found that the mazda filters do a good job. i'm not sure about the msp, but for the p5, i just use the v6 mazda 626 filter. for $5, can't go wrong.

i use the k&n brand filters :)

Here are the different types you can use :)

-STP S6607
-FRAM SPIN ON TYPE PH6607
-BOSCH 3300
-MOBIL M1-108
-K&N HP-1008

Take screen from your window and tape it on top of an old tin can....then duct-tape that in proper location. Much cheaper.

K&N or Mazda filters are ok.

Stay away from FRAM and STP, please. The filter element in STP is garbage, and the FRAM uses all plastic parts...including the spring that holds the internal valve in place. It fails under high pressure and lets all sorts of stuff in.

Wow I have never heard that before. Thanks for the info.

I have always used the Fram 6607 :(

I never heard anything bad until now either
Yeah, Frams are cheap. There's a link to an oil filter comparison study around here somewhere.

also WIX is a good filter (NAPA Gold = WIX also) and can be found anywhere.

Mazda OEM is also a good choice.

personally I'm going to relocate my filter, and use a standard size filter.

ALWAYS GO FOR OEM stay awasy form anythign that comes from wal-mart aka FRAM.

You cant go wrong with a Mazda OEM filter. Plus the dealer wont b**** about it if they do that sorta stuff.

I susualyl go for the mobil filters or K&N (really good).

I've used the Fram filters for years on all kinds of cars that have had the snot beat out of them unmercifully without any problems. Surprised to hear people say they are junk.
