changing my oil tomorrow, how much to add?..

i remember seeing on here a while ago someone posting the exact amount of oil the mp3 should get filled to when doing an oil change but i can't find it now. anybody know how much? i thought it was something like 4.7something quarts. p.s. i was thinking about switching my tranny fluid to redline mt-90 but not sure if it is gonna be a job too big for me; i've never changed tranny fluid before. and i heard that i should change the tranny filter when doing so, if so, how much work it that consist?

4 qts is too much little less is better then a lil more. And yea give him a break...

I used 4 quarts last weekend, and installed a 2002 626 oil filter. It is bigger, and offsets the amount we are supposed to put in per the manual.

I also put in 3 quarts of amsoil in the tranny. Good luck finding a 23mm socket though. I had to use channel locks at an angle.

well guessing from his account name, if your car is boosted with a turbo kit. then yea you would need a little more than just 4 quarts because the turbo also needs oil and runs through the engines oil line.

you could always go to autozone and borrow their tools. you have to pay for a deposit, but you get it back when you return the tool just a thought.

should i have gotten the bigger 626 filter instead of the oem one since my car is turboed? does it really matter?

Bigger filter, more filtration. Not the end of the world if you use the filter made for the car. I got it as a personal preference.
