I just wanted to say thanks to all the members here for helping me figure out how to change my manual transmission fluid. I did the whole process in about 20 min. The longest part was waiting for the old s*** to drain.

I put in Redline and it is a totally different beast now..... not really.....but I do feel better about having it in there since the shifting was definitely notchy.....

Now if I can just figure out how to get that damn bolt off to change my oil to Mobil 1..... any suggestions? I tried and tried and couldnt get it to budge......

Here is a pic of my car too....

I had the hardest time finding a 23mm though. I'm glad you pointed that out cause most places had a 22mm and then the next size was a 24 mm.....

If I didn't read it on here then I would have been going back and forth from home to the store and been getting ....

Hmm, I always just tap the wrench really good by hand ( a good b**** slap) and the plugs come out. Make sure you're going the correct direction and tap the wrench with a hammer, or you hand.

BTW, do you work in DC? I kinda messed with a black MSP on the BW parkway one early morning a couple weeks ago.....

Oh, and the tranny DP is 24mm....I think....

Nah, that wasnt me..... I work in Herndon VA. So I take Rt 29 from Columbia and around the beltway to the Dulles Tollroad....frickin long drive..... lol

You think your drive is long, I drive from Westminster to DC. 140 miles round trip. I hit alot of 95's. 795, 695, 95, 495, 295! The traffic sucks around here, I've been late all week there's at least one accident a day that stops traffic. I can usually do the morning commute in 1hr 5min, it can be up to 4 hrs. The ride home is always at least 2 hours.

To keep with the thread....I put Mobil1 in my tranny the other week and it's great, synthetic really helps.

LOL......thanks....but I think I was going the right way. Anyways, I eventually got it to budge. I guess I'm just a weakling.

Mobil 1 Syn is now in my car. Too bad I probably wont feel a difference.....its just all in my head.....

Your welcome!

I did notice a difference when I changed my tranny fluid. I used to grind 2nd all the time. I don't think I have done it since.

I actually have always felt a difference whenever I've changed to Mobil-1 Engine always runs smoother.
