i already took the whole assembly thing out of my car, now im tryin to get the actual sub out of it. I still have no idea how to get this out

I'm pretty sure if you pull the grille off the front, you'll see the screws that hold the sub in the enclosure.

well how do i take that off, i dont want to mess up the grill

That I can't help with. I know I read about others doing it before, search and see if you can find out who it was and PM them.

it's pretty hard to mess up the grille...hehehe. It's just cheap-o mesh...very pliable. Just stick a flat head screwdriver on the edge and pull it out. Then you can unscrew it (which I might add, is a pain in the ass, due to the way they attached it! ugh!)

Yeha it is, I started to unscrew those screws when my sub blew......let me tell you that wasnt happeneing. I just said screw it and left it in there. They are like glues in or soemthing.

How are you guys getting the sub out , with the wire the goes the the little box mounted to the left bracket running through the bracket??? it looks like it has to be cut???? Also whats that little box for????, need help quick!!!

That wire's not attached to the harness that connects to the sub. That box is for the rear window defroster. You can take the sub enclosure off with out having to take off that bracket, though. I still took that bracket off later, but one of the brackets needs to stay, to hold on to the defroster box.

connect an amp to yer sub ;p they are s*** anyway so at least make them hit hard untill you invest in a real system

Damn!! the sub is sold and all the brackets need to goto the buyer. Looks like the only way to get the bracket off is to cut the f'ing wire huh.....s***

You can pull the wire out from the clips in the window. They're really easy to release. You just need to pull apart the rear deck to get to them.

BTW...the other brackets, the ones attached to the wheel well are the ones I left. It's a bolt and nut combo. Once you get the inside loose, you've gotta find the other end to pull those off, and that's where the true PITA begins. Hence I just left those and suspended the box from them.

the mesh over the sub comes right off just mess a little bit with it its not stuck on very well and then you'll see the screws under it.

Yah I got those out. Those were a b****!!! Got the scratched up forearms to prove it! Now I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to re-mount the little defroster box. Also trying to decide wether to just cut the fire and solder it back together. Or un clip it and pull it throgh. How bad is pulling the rear deck off????......Didn't think this was going to be such a pain in the ass when I set out to do it this afternoon.

I take it only an 8 " sub can fit in it? or is the box big enough for something else? I havn't pulled it apart yet but i want a better sub, but now I'm hesitating with the trouble it sounds like you guys are having.

It's not all that big of an issue. I just need to find the best way to do it. And I've got to get this thing out and shipped soon.
