cel wont shut off

i put aftermarket exuast on my mp5 header, and cat back and now the check engine is on it gives me a catalitic code so i bought an aftermarket highflow cat,reset the light and it came back on, ive also replaced both o2 sensors does anyone know what the solution is to this problem

you put a header on it...which removed the precat (which is what the cat code is for)

Gotta do a CEL fix... search!

o god yea u spent a lot of unnecessary money, since u took out the stock header u lost the precat attached to it which means you will be throwing that code unless u do something like a non-fouler trick to get it to turn off.

non-fouler???. i was doing the full aftermarket exaust anyways so it wasnt waisted money moving the 2nd o2 sensor to after the cat wouldnt fix this problem or would i be wasting my time??

Bam, there ya go

cause, as long as the 02 sensor is plugged into the exhaust w/o the stock header/precat, the CEL will always be on


and i didn't say you wasted money by doing the full exhaust, i say props to ya for that actually!!

what header/midpipe/catback did you get?

i have the obx header,msp garage mid pipe and the racebeat cat back, i was nt saying the waste of money towards u..my bad but thanks ill check that out

do u have the msp midpipe of the protege garage midpipe (SLS)? because if you have the msp midpipe you shouldn't be running a cel since it has two cats.

well i tried the non-fouler trick and it did not work...thanks anywasy for the suggestion..what i did get to work was moving it to behind the cat, i got the o2 extension harness and moved it reset the light and it has stayed off, i would of much rather it had been the 7 dollar fix but instead it cost me 45 no big thanks for the help
