cel light came on today plz help.

hey guys lets start off im new to the forum the names shawn, ive owned the speed3 for a month an half bout it with 22,900 it now has 24,400 miles on it, while i was driving today the cel light came on so i have a obd2 reader diagnostic tool. i pluged it in and it said inssufesant egr flow. now ihave been running 87 octane gas cuz im broke lol, i cleared the ecu went directly to mobile and put 93 octane in and ran to autozone and put in this nos octane booster, boosts it up 6 points so my octane rating should be 99 points.... Now the car is running much better and smoother my question is shouls this cleen out the egr valve if not the car is still coverd under warranty, input asap pleasse

well run it and see if it comes back....and I would suggest that even if your "broke" don't put ANYTHING less then 89 cuz your zoom zoom might just go boom boom when it Knocks!

lol running 87 because you're broke...even if 93 was .50 more per gallon, that's $7.50 more per fill up if you somehow manage to put in the 15gallon capacity. If your finances don't allow for an extra $8 for fill-up, you may have bigger worries than your egr.

87? Really? Then sell the car. Don't drive it. Just imagine how broke you'll be when you blow the ******* motor apart!

What they said. High compression forced induction motors need higher octane fuel to operate properly and get damaged. There's a reason the manual says to not put low octane fuel in it.

yeah seriously, its a few more bucks a fill up which for me is maybe once a week, but usually every 2 weeks. If you're that low on funds you need to consider a major change in life style, not trying to judge, just help.

guy we have got off to a bad start my g35 said 91 ocatane never ran it and it was fine this is my first turbo so now i am runing the 93 along with hte nos booster let that run thru then im gonna run 91 in it

Good to hear, theres a thread on here describing on how to take the egr tube off to clean it and if you want to, remove it. I've seen some pretty crappy ones, they can get pretty clogged with carbon build up.

lol "i gotz some noszzzzz octane booster, so now my gas is like a million octane"
6 octane points = .6 octane numbers. so your probably somewhere like a 93.5 octane rating. not 99 genious
