CEL and stiff brakes?

the other day i turned my car on, air temp outside was 20 degrees, i let it warm up for about 3 minutes before driving and once i backed out of my parking spot in the garage and put the car into 1st the CEL came on. i wouldn't even waste anyones time mentioning this except that around the same time i noticed the breaks became significantly stiffer, almost like the ABS was gone. (stiff like how the steering wheel feels when u lose power steering) anyways, has anyone else had this problem or have any ideas? i took it to the dealer and they said they didn't have any mazda techs in for the next few days...i hate that place already...and, needless to say, there was no one to even plug my car into the computer and run a diagnostic test.

RI.. which dealership was it? I've only been to one dealership in RI and wasn't too impressed with their parts/service dept when I needed somethin and was in the area. Is there another dealership you can go to?

That sounds like some weird issue. It hasn't happened again, right?

Well the CEL sounds like it is the P2006 code that everyone seems to be getting since it is cold out. As for the brake thing, I hadnt noticed anything weird with mine when it is cold. Definatly have it checked out but you can read more about the P2006 code here: (if you havent already)
