hi this is my first post to the forum. anyway my wife has a 96 mx-5 which we'll actually be selling sometime soon (she just got a 02 mazda p5). anyway i'm trying to fix a couple things before i sell it. the cel is on for a exhaust pressure sensor. i can't remember what the code is i'd have to check it again. i'm thinking it's the egr valve but wanted to know if anyone else has had this code. i took it off and cleaned it with no luck. second every once in a while when you go to start it the engine won't turn over. i replaced the whole starter thinking it was the solenoid and it still does it. could this be the clutch inhibit switch or some other switch/relay. thanks for any help.

You can't possibly expect anyone to answer whether or not they've had the same code as you if you don't know what the code is... get the code then we can help. For the starter issue, it could also be the ignition switch.

thanks for the info. i actually did google it a couple months ago and some of those sites weren't there. the only one i found of relevance at the time was one that did say to check the vacuum lines from the egr which i did. i did google it yesterday and someone actually posted the pages from the service manual that tell you how to diagnose it. i haven't looked into the fixes yet
